Did You Make It Harder for Yourself to Make Money Online?

Were you so desperate for sales that you devalued your services or products by reducing them in price to such a degree that it really wasn't profitable?

Did you then start to give that hard work away in order to build a list, because that's where the real money is?

Then, when you couldn't sell your own products at a profit, because you were selling them too cheap or giving them away to build your list, did you bombard your list with affiliate offers to the point where they just grew tired of your eMails and, even if they didn't unsubscribe, they just stopped reading your messages?

Were you so anxious for good Google rankings that you signed up for all their free tools, like Analytics and gmail and all sorts of stuff that gave them a lot of insight into what you were doing as far as SEO, building traffic and so on, and then got angry and ticked off or just wound up scratching your head when your rankings eventually went down the Google Toiletâ„¢?

Did you use all the cheap and free services you could, and then complain when your former customers would go looking for cheap or free products or services instead of buying yours?

Did you spam the heck out of every new service and hot new thing that came on the scene, and then act all shocked and surprised when said service or hot new thing starts banning accounts of people that spam the heck out of them?

Did you raise your customers' quality expectations and lower their payment threshold by continually delivering products at lower and lower prices, while putting more work into them than before?

Did you contribute to the devaluation of everything in your niche and drive prices down to the point where it is only profitable for people in Third World countries to create and perform the products and services you used to?

Good job.

Maybe for an encore you can crash the entire world economy.

Oops.

So, anyway, now that you've shot yourself in the foot, what are you going to do about it? Limp along the rest of your life? Or learn how to aim?

I read an article yesterday that said FaceBook is one of the author's top twelve picks of 'things that could bring down the entire world economy.'

I don't remember what the other 11 were, but I wasn't on it.

    *Phew.

As for the rest... good job. But don't count on 'dawn breaks on marble head.'
