On average how many list subscribers buy an affiliate product

i know that some lists are more responsive that anothers, but I am looking for an average figure

I also know factors like the quality of the product are important

say you have a list of 1,000 people and you throw a well-received wso their way as an affiliate, on average how many per 1,000 would buy?

Your question is way to generic. It can't be answered, unless we knew how the list was built. For example, let's say you built a list by giving away an SEO plugin. Mailing a WSO about how to close local businesses for mobile services may not go over very well.

The point is, you should build highly targeted lists and only send them relevant offers.

With that being said, many marketers set a goal of how much they make per visitor, per month on average, rather than how many will buy. That goal could be $0.50 or $1 or more per subscriber.

You must be psychic, as you don't know anything about the list he asking about. The more closely related the list and offer are, the higher the percentage will be. The further apart they are, the lower the percentage will be. Then there's the type of relationship he has with his subscribers. If he is a "Wow Click Here" type of guy, then clicks and conversions will be low, but unsubscribes will be high. If he develops a relationship and gives a true assessment of the product and it is related to the list topic, conversions will be higher.

There are too many variables for you to say 1% with a straight face.

I don't know the average, but my open rate for my WSO subscribers are 2% -4%. If you have above 6%-10% open rate, you really have a high open rate.

"You heard it here first, folks" ...

So, you go to the trouble of having appropriate opt-ins, and building a list, and using an autoresponder, and communicating with your subscribers, and at least nine people out of every ten on your list don't even open an email from you, and you think that's a really high open-rate and you're doing well?

I have a nasty feeling that you mean it seriously, too ...

David, I don't mean it rudely, I promise, and I know that business models vary quite a bit, but doesn't it strike you that something, somewhere, must have gone dramatically wrong, here?!

Like EBR said this question has way to many variables.

I have lists that are mostly junk list and i know it. Those lists get 2% ish open rates. there is little i can do as they are being built using junk traffic. But they are still very profitable lists to own, so the 2% open rate is ok with me.

I have another list of about 700 and its not uncommon at all for my list stats to show an open rate of over 100% since many of those people end up opening the email more than once. the click rates to that list are over 80% every time. I can count on it.

So you see, here i am saying i have one list that shows a near 100% open rate on every email and another list that shows a 2% open rate. There are just way to many factors involved in this.
