Which Paypal account type would you recommend?

If all you will be doing is accepting payments from affiliate networks then the basic should be fine. If you plan on expanding in the future then you should consider the premier or business. I have a golf club eccommerce site that I have the business plan and I use them as my merchant for accepting credit cards.

There is a lot more to go through to get a business account, but once you have it you can do alot.

But, like I said at the beginning, if all you plan to do is accept payments from networks and buy things then the basic is fine. I would, however, get their debit card as you can use paypal to keep track of all your business expenses

You need Premium at minimum if you're going to do any business at all via Paypal.

I would say start out with a business account. PayPal wants you to have a business account if you are doing business. A personal account is for if you want to buy something for your self. It's not difficult to get a business account.

You can pretty much do the same things with the Premiere and the Business accounts with the biggest (not the only) differences being access by just you(Premiere) or by employees as well (Business) and the use of a business vs. personal name.

The question you need to decide is do you want to accept credit card payments for direct sales you make or will you have a website that you want a PayPal button on? If you do then you definitely need either the Premiere or Business account.

If you are simply receiving affiliate payments from the vendor or some other business, then the personal account would be ok. You can always start with it and then upgrade easily if you need to.

By their TOS you are allowed to have a personal account AND a Premier OR Business account. You can not use the same email addresses or bank accounts (as your primary bank account) on more than one account so think about exactly what you want your accounts to do and what emails and bank accounts you want to use now because it can be nearly impossible to change these around later.
