Wordpress experts... PLEASE help!

I have hundreds of posts in wrong categories. Is
there a plugin that can mass move posts from one
or more categories to other categories?

I have searched for days and haven't found any
that can do this.

Please help.

Not sure on the plugin side, but depending on the level of 'wrongness' you'd be able
to run mySQL queries (or pay a few bucks for someone to do so) on the actual
database to achieve what you want.

Thanks for this, but I just checked and it seems it's not
yet compatible with Wordpress 2.7. Any more ideas,
anyone?

I just found and tried this - Bulk Move WordPress Plugin - Night Dreaming (by Sudar)
but it moves ALL of the posts from one category to another. This is not
what I want. I want a similar plugin that will move some of the posts I
will select from one category to another. If the category has, 20 posts, I
should be able to tick the 10 or so that I want to move and have them
moved to a different category.

Any ideas?

You can do this in Wordpress 2.7 already, by bringing up your list of posts, ticking the ones you want to edit, and applying a bulk / mass action to them.

Useful if there are specific posts you need to put in specific categories / remove from specific categories.

If, however, you just want to move hundreds of posts to one specific category, a plugin or query would be quicker.

Thanks for your help, but sadly, this doesn't do it.
It only handles the editing/changing categories for
individual posts, not bulk/mass posts.

Any more ideas, anyone?

Just curious- how did you end up with 100s of posts in the wrong categories?

As another thought - depends on the other posts you have - could you not just rename the problem category to the right category name?

As I said, it depends on what other posts need to remain in that category, though.

I upload hundreds of articles automatically with a plugin but
this plugin puts them all in only one category. So, I need another
plugin that can move selected posts from this one category to
another and so on.
