Any Tips for Working Your Online Business from a Hospital Room?

Hi Fellow Warriors,

My daughter was admitted to Children's Hospital Friday morning and we will likely be here at least another couple of days.

It has been a real challenge to keep my clients happy while away from my home office.

The admission was not planned and we were transported here by ambulance so I did not have my laptop with us. Finally was able to have someone bring it to me yesterday and was able to touch base with clients that had orders due between Friday and yesterday so all is well on that front.

I must say it is challenging to be away from my home office. Any tips for how I might be able to stay connected better or continue to service my clients while in a hospital environment would be greatly appreciated. I can utilize SKYPE now but miss my printer/scanner and have no idea if there is a post office within walking distance or not. We are at Cleveland Clinic Children's Hospital so I will ask the staff on her floor if there is a post office near. I do not have my car since we were transported by ambulance which makes things a little trickier to find things like an office supply store.

I am going to google online faxes etc. but would welcome any tips that anyone can think of to help me run my writing business smoothly during the rest of our stay here.

Here are some I saw on Clark Howard website.
    Free faxing:
    FaxZero.com
    GotFreeFax.com
    OneSuite.com ($1 monthly charge applies)
    HelloFax.com

Also, don't be afraid to ask the nurse or doctors if they would let you utilize their fax equipment as long as you don't abuse the situation.

I have no idea if this is a solution just a thought...Perhaps you can catch a cab and get the car or have a family member come to the hospital get your keys and get your car?

    Anyways all the best

    Laura,
Shortly after starting my writing business I had to make an emergency trip to the hospital for a few days. It seemed devasting at the time. Most of my clients were very understanding, though. The ones that weren't -- I simple refunded their money. It was a tough time but it all worked out in the end.

Don't let the stress overwhelm you. Your daughter is your main priority right now. When you do have some time to work; try to focus and get as much done as possible. But when you're with your daughter then focus on her.

If you need some backup for writing projects PM me.

    Hope your daughter recovers quickly.

    Rose
