Buy War Room access and read and read and and study and read and read for a for months and by then you should know what to do to make $. I'm still a newb to the forum myself but I devote about 5 hours a day to reading on here and basically every question I wanted to ask when I first joined have already been answered from previous post.

Most of the newbies starts with affiliate marketing. You don't need to have your own product and website and start promoting. I am using squeeze page to promote affiliate program.

$37 will get you access to the War Room. Best money you'll ever spend. If you can't afford that, take the time to go through the threads on the site because you'll learn a lot. Oh, one more thing, the search function will be your best friend. People who don't use the search function and end up asking questions that have already been asked can end up feeling the wrath of some of the less patient members on this site. But, for the most part, people here are friendly and helpful.

I agree join the war room for help and advice. You will get a great idea of what to do. I will tell you one thing do not get caught up in anaylsis paralysis, this will destroy your enthusiasm.

Also get a clear idea of what you want to do. If you want to do a service then you have to learn something that you can offer of value. IE web development or SEO, but if it is more freedom you are after then focus on building a list and affiliate marketing. If you have any questions PM me.

Capitalize your "I"s. :p. I'm halfway kidding. If you want to make money, that means starting a business. Starting a business involves at least baseline professionalism, although no one is expecting you to be perfect.

    Hi Elliot,

The first and most important thing to do is to list out all your skills. What skills do you have? You may have picked up these skills through daily life, through your job (hands-on knowledge in a specific niche) or from your hobbies (for example fishing).

Then you may want to try Affiliate Marketing. Affiliate marketing is very attractive because it’s pretty easy to get started.

There’s no need to create or source products of your own to sell – all you have to do is get people to click on your affiliate link and buy the product, and therefore there’s little upfront investment cost and no time-consuming products to create.

Hope that helps and I wish you luck.

The War Room is highly recommended. It should only take a few days of research on there before you feel comfortable pinpointing a method to pursue.

Experience will also serve as an excellent teacher as you will find some of your greatest successes by implementing your own twists to existing methods.

A lot of people seem to put a lot of stock in affiliate links, but if there a are a lot of skilled IM people out there competing against you in this field, then you are going to find the competition very rough.

I personally have found quality local products that I actually believe in and are in my day job niche. I put a shop on my site, and I sell these products cheaper than retail. For me that is a lot more satisfying than just selling a whole bunch of stuff for someone else that I have no connection with. But then again, I dont have a lot of automated tools (well none) ...

Yo, affiliate marketing is the best way to start out. Clickbank is where most people start but there are loads of websites to join.

After you get some experience, you can start marketing "adult" things too (cam sites, dating sites etc)

Hi Elliot, I'm new to the forums as well, the information here is great. What I'd suggest is using the same method that got me started, building a list. The easiest way to get started on this, is by first choosing a niche. Once you've got your niche, you'll need to find a product in that area. You can use affliate products from clickbank or similar affiliate companies. What I prefer is PLR (private label rights) products, which are products you buy for a one time fee that come with resale rights. Once you have a product, you want to design a squeeze page with an opt in form (collect name/email). You need a good sales letter in order to sell your product. Then you will need to drive traffic, you can buy solo ads, work on SEO (search engine optimization) teqniques, or outsource someone to do backlinking for your site. Once you build a solid list with a good relationship with your customers you can begin e-mail marketing. I know what I wrote sounds vague to someone just starting out, but search these forums for the keywords I used, once you understand them, you can implement them basically in the order I described and win. lol.

The way to make money online? 3 things-

    1. Build a sales funnel with a one time offer
    2. Buy solos and drive traffic to that offer
    3. Build an email list simultaneous, look after them and send them affiliate offers from time to time.

It takes time, but this will work. Clickbank takes time. Point no.3 is the most important.

Hey Elliot! Welcome to the forum. I see you already joined the War Room. That's a great move.

IM isn't easy and success takes time. Most successful marketers are successful because they learned from someone who is successful. So the best advice I can give you is find a successful marketer who has a business you like and want to learn and get them to coach you. It might cost you a lot up front, but it will actually save you money in the end.

Before you plunk down a lot of money, check out some of the coaching WSOs. Alex Jeffreys, Anik Singal, John Thornhill, Eric Louviere, and Michael Cheney are some of the big marketers who have offered low cost coaching programs on Warrior Forum recently. Join one or more of them and decide who resonates most with you. When you find the one, pay for his premium coaching and learn how to do what he does. If you do this, you will probably cut your learning curve from several months to several weeks.

Best to you and happy hunting!

    Hi Elliot;

Welcome to the world of internet marketing. I am also new to this online world. And I was confused until I found a mentor- who is sincere and have made a lot of money online.

My first suggestion is do not fall into the trap of buying into the hype-there is so much online. Do not purchase every push button software that promises there is easy way to make money online.

Secondly, find a mentor-someone who have been where you are and actually made money doing what they are teaching.

Thirdly, be willing to learn what it takes to make money online. This is real business, and like any business, you must go through a period of learning.

Finally, be patient and persist. Through patience and persistence, you will achieve your goals. My mentor says, learn the process and you will always make money online. And the good news is you only need to learn few skills once.

    Good luck

If you're on a budget I would go for the options that don't require an investment. Writing articles on revenue sharing sites is a good beginner's way to build up passive income and just to build confidence. Freelancing is another good option for steady income

I know that you are asking for an advice on how to start as a complete newbie, but what about your own wishes and dreams?

What do you want to achieve in 5 years? What is your dream? What is the goal of your life?

I have once struggled on my own starting something, but I have never found the right motivation, because I didn't know, what is the purpose of it (and NO, money weren't a motivation enough).
    {{ DiscussionBoard.errors[6939279].message }}
  • How you can make money online?

1 By selling your own products or services.
2 By selling others products or services and earning commission.

It depends on you what you want to do. If you have passion for web designing, web development or internet marketing then you can learn any of this and sell your services. If you don't want to learn much then affiliate marketing would be best.

Affiliate marketing don't need much time to learn but you will need an audience to whom you can sell. I would suggest you to jump into affiliate marketing and you will be making money in a very short time.

    Elliot,

Clarity is a HUGE part of IM success. It's so simple when you know it -- and darn difficult when you don't! I owe my mentors a world of thanks for bringing this clarity.

IM is actually pretty simple: you can sell only one of two things:

    1. Products
    2. Services

    That's it!

And selling products or services online happens in the same basic way for everyone, no matter what they're selling:

    Traffic > Opt-in page > Autoresponder series (or e-zine) > Sales page

That's it! It's just that simple. (We IMers tend to overcomplicate things.)

But no matter what your niche is, or whether you're selling a product or a service, do you know what your business model is?

A business model is the framework or skeleton of your business. Essentially there are three types of online business models:

    1. Membership-based model

A membership-based business model allows you to build a community of people (your members) who are as passionate about your subject as you are. Your membership fees can be monthly or annual, but either way, you're building recurring, passive income.

There are a lot of resources and information out there to help you build a membership-based business if you're interested in doing this.

    2. Product-based model

Selling products allows you to maximize your time and effort by selling items over and over again. This can be hard goods or it can be information products. Information marketing is it's own business model under the product-based model. Information marketing allows you to take your brain to the bank by creating a product ONCE based on what you know and selling it over and over again.

Affiliate marketing falls under both models. You can choose to market either products or services as an affiliate.

    3. Service-based model

Selling services can be great for 1) generating quick cash (as in the case of article writing or video producing) and 2) establishing your expertise and getting testimonials.

However, in the long run, your goal should be to offer services at a PREMIUM. The biggest advantage of IM is LEVERAGE. You're able to leverage your time, money and expertise exponentially online. We all have just 24 hours each day. Time to get ruthless about what you expect for those hours you spend in IM each day. Expect more of yourself and more from your business friends, clients, partners, etc.

What results are you getting for those hours you spend online each day? Ultimately, your services should be at the bottom of your funnel and cost the most since they involve your time and personal attention. (We all have a limited amount of time each day.)

The fun (and confusion) comes in with all of the endless mix-and-match possibilities of the above models. If you're just starting or still struggling to make money, keep it simple:

    Pick just ONE!

    1. Pick ONE niche. (Something you're interested in and know something about.)

    2. Pick ONE target market for your product or service. (Who will buy what you're offering? The more specific you are, the more you narrow it down, the more successful you'll be.)

    3. Pick ONE business model.

Now that you're clear about what business you're in, FOCUS! (And stop buying any info not related to your niche and target market, period!)

    F -- Follow
    O -- One
    C -- Course
    U -- Until
    S -- Successful

And remember: build a list, Build a List, BUILD A LIST!

In IM, it's easy to put the cart before the horse. Take a deep breath, step back and consider what type of business you REALLY want. Don't worry about getting traffic or buying that expensive traffic product until you know 1) what your business model is, 2) what niche you're in and 3) WHO your target market is!

Successful business people will tell you that MARKETING is more than half the effort that's needed for success anyway. So pick a niche, target market and business model. Then spend most of your time and effort marketing it.

If you DON'T have a solid plan or system, THAT'S when it's hard. A good system will shave YEARS (and save you big $$$) off of your learning curve

That's why I recommend investing in at least one good, comprehensive IM course (or mentor who will give you such a system) instead of jumping from one $37 e-book to the next. A lot of people here complain about not being able to make any money. But neither are they willing to invest in their business. (Buying a random bunch of $37 e-books doesn't count.)

The best thing I ever did was invest in a comprehensive IM course aimed at REAL business owners, not just other IM wannabes. Yes it was $1500. (It's no longer available.) But it was truly some of the best A-Z IM info I ever bought. Everything else I've learned (from the $37 e-books) since has simply been plugged into this system.

Get a solid plan or system and then work the plan!

    Hope this helps!
