Wordpress Security Plugin...

Hello Warriors,

What are the security plugins you used on your wordpress blog? I found this three high rated plugins but don't know what to use:

Wordfence Security
BulletProof Security
Better WP Security

Can you tell me what to use?

Thanks.

    I use Better WP Security.

Best security plugin that I have found. Walks you step by step through the changes you need to make to make your blog more secure.

Hello Mousumi, there is no plugin on this planet that will stop hacking attacks.

The real purpose of a security plug-in is to harden, from security point of view, your website configurations. Though, it might help to prevent hackers to damage your site or steal information, it is sure not a full proof solution.

In order to prevent or minimize damage you should do the following:

        1. Secure you website by using plugins (good ones) and other security hardening techniques (already discussed many times on this forum).
        2. Secure you computer (using up to date operating system, use antivirus, and follow secure Internet browsing techniques)
        3. Adapt and follow secure practices. (Passwords management, wireless internet usage, public wireless usage, computer sharing, etc.)
        4. Be security aware.

Important: although these recommendations will minimize or prevent some damage to your site, they will not stop hacking attempts, as it is impossible.

I know there is lots of information here, so if you have any particular questions, just ask away..

        regards,

        so11

bulletproof is probably the better. Keep in mind, securing your website is not a simple as installing a plugin.

  • Even though Better WP Security might look good I would say avoid it like the plague, check out the support section, this plugin has been a nightmare.. Definitely would not use on a professional site.. I am using Bullet Proof Security Pro and I can tell you this is without a shadow of a doubt the best security plugin for wordpress period. Kind of difficult to set it up but once you do you are "bulletproof" I talk to the programmer and he really knows security.. great programmer, very professional and amazing support. Very Highly Recommended.. in fact my highest recommendation if you are running wordpress..
