What were the "Challenges" you've encountered?

Hi,

I'm slowly learning IM but the learning curve still quite steep just like any other venture.

These are the skills that I'm capable of doing already
  • Purchase Domain Name
  • Purchase Web Hosting Account
  • Setup Name Server from Domain Hoster
  • Use DreamWeaver to connect my website via FTP
  • Maintain website using DreamWeaver


These are some of the difficulties that I'm facing right now:
  • I joined an online IM course whereby i pay $49 p/m for 3 years. The materials available online are vast and overwhelming and not sure where do I begin.
  • Further I don't know which strategy to adapt (e.g., affiliates or launch own products)
  • Though, I have online materials to use (e.g., video training) still not sure where I starts:

When you were starting with IM what were:
  • the challenges you have faced (e.g., where to begin)
  • How you overcome them
  • what strategy you have adopted (e.g., affiliates or product launch or both)
  • How long it took you before you earned your first commission or income?
  • How much time you have invested each day
  • Tools you have used successful to build your IM business
  • Appreciate if you have some input to point me to the right direction so I can begin the baby step.

    Hi there, I'll try and answer your questions

    the challenges you have faced (e.g., where to begin)
    - not understanding SEO
    - being unfocussed
    - trying many different methods at once

    How you overcome them
    - I left my job to do an internship in India
    - When I returned home I got serious about IM because I found it hard to get a job that could be flexible enough to accommodate my UNI timetable
    - I decided to focus on a method that I knew 99% would work and already had inbuilt traffic so I could get started right away (and not worry about SEO)
    - I started an article writing service here on the forum

    what strategy you have adopted (e.g., affiliates or product launch or both)
    - Since I started my service I have created products and have sold products as an affiliate to my list of customers.

    How long it took you before you earned your first commission or income?
    - Within 24 hours of my services thread going live in the Warriors For Hire Section

    How much time you have invested each day
    - about 8 hours a day (varies according to my college workload)

    Tools you have used successful to build your IM business
    - www.Aweber.com for email marketing
    - The Warrior Forum (including the WFH section and my signature file)
    - Warrior Plus

    Appreciate if you have some input to point me to the right direction so I can begin the baby step.
    - Focus on one method
    - Use feedback from your results and determine how you can tweak your efforts for greater benefit
    - If you can offer services here then I would recommend doing so, only because I know from experience that it is a good place to start...otherwise select a model that you are more comfortable.
