I would need to know more details about what it is before I can recommend a solution. A 10 hour countdown video? I'm not sure why they would want to create a video out of that because it would be way too large for someone to ever watch. So it would be a waste of your time. If all they want to achieve is a ten hour countdown to put on their website or something then flash, javascript, or php is going to be a much more sensible solution.

Very true m8. I had not thought about it that way. Just a middle man here trying to find a solution for a job my wife is doing.

It's a countdown timer to go on a tv screens around a bar running countdowns to the end of various promotions i believe. Not sure why they have asked for AVI myself. Maybe because that is all they know to ask for.

is the TV hooked up to a computer or not?

A 10 hour countdown video is going to be one huge file.

A much better way to do it would be to hook up a computer and run a countdown script from the computer rather than a video file. That way you could easily change the countdown for each promotion.

In that case, you don't need to record 10 hours of PP slides!

Will hit the nail on the head.

Just use some kind of javascript, PHP or something embedded into the site's code from the start. I dont really like flash myself tho, I always seem to get "attacked" by someone when I'm running it.. Strange..

How big would it be for a 10-hour-long avi video?
If you need to convert PowerPoint file to avi format, just download a converter.
But I have no idea how long would it take to finish the conversion.:confused:
