Stupid question regarding posting YouTube vids

Hi everybody, I've been reading for a while, but just haven't posted anything until now. This looks like a valuable site

I'm looking into posting youtube videos as part of an IM plan. Since Google now pretty much runs the world, everything is tied into google one way or another. Want to log into a youtube account? You have to use your google account. For things like Google+ and gmail, having my display name as my real name is preferable. For posting youtube videos, quite frankly, it's not always preferable. If I change my youtube display name to something more anonymous, it changes my name on all my google accounts. So, if I change my youtube display name to be, say, "Relentless Marketing G", then go to add a friend on Google+, they're going to see it as from "Relentless Marketing G". Which would be stupid. Same goes for sending emails. Now, obviously I wouldn't choose that particular name. But, I'd like the flexibility to have a youtube name different from what shows up on my Google+ and gmail. Am I just an idiot in thinking this is possible? Or am I an idiot for not being able to figure out how to set this up?

(I'd rather not have to switch back and forth between a bunch of different gmail/google accounts)

    Yeah, I know it's kind of annoying to have everything tied together - even if you don't want it. That's why I create different Google accounts for different purposes. Just start with a new gmail account, and then set up the different accounts based on that address.

      It's quite annoying how they have everything on lock down. It's a royal pain to figure out a way around this. I shouldn't have to spend an hour of my morning trying to figure this crap out!

    Why would that be stupid? If you're going to be a marketer, be proud of it. Also, you never know where business will come from. I put my business info out there as much as I can (email, G+, Facebook, and hundred other places.)

      I intend to post a variety of different videos on youtube. Some will be directly related to something I intend to market. Others may be totally unrelated and in good fun. With the idea being for people coming to my channel to NOT get the feeling that all my channel is about is marketing/selling something. And I have a career outside of all of this and do not need the entire world in all of my business. Admittedly, it benefits sites like Google and Facebook to indeed allow the entire world as much access to every aspect of my life as possible. However, I'd like to fight them off in those efforts.

      Perhaps the best bet is to try to limit my google accounts to two. One for personal life and one as a pseudonym for other stuff. I'm not a fan of that approach but it looks like Google will force my hand...
