What is your blogging strategy?

Obviously don't post your secrets and whatnot if you don't want to, but post a general outline.

I've been blogging for the past month and half with a new site. So far I've got 25 sub subscribers and 2k visits from Sept 19th to today. No money made so far but my name is being put out there somewhat.

I'm kinda getting lost as to what to be working on everyday.

Most days this is what I do.

Social Media: follow other twitter accs+tweet to get more followers. Like Fb comments and engage with other pages for likes. I also post articles/pics on my fanpage

Guest Post: I email a few bloggers for guest posts

Blogging: I'll typically write up a new post every few days, seo optimize it and then broadcast on social media

Emails: I might also add a few more emails to my Autoresponder series.

It does depend on what it is you are doing this for. Are you doing it to sell something ultimately or just doing it for fun?

If its to sell something then I set up a full ecosystem around the blog. I use tools like links alpha or buffer to amplify the content and I make sure I crank out 1 - 2 solid quality articles per week.

I also use syndication to make sure it gets amplified further than my own ecosystem. I offer amazing value for free and then use autoresponders to up sell at the end of the 7 email series that is spread out over 45 - 60 days.

    Thats just to get started.....

To the original poster. There is a ton you can do... a LOT! And I agree that it does depend on your blog topic. Here are just a few ideas I'll list:

-Make sure your subscription is easy to see and gives a call to action ("Enter Your Email for Free Blog Updates")
-Comment on other blogs in your niche and build a relationship with a few that you feel are on the same level. Then you can all help each other build up (leverage).
-Use something like tweetadder to automate most of your tweeting/following/rss syndication. That's what I use and I love it. It probably saves me at least 15 minutes a day per twitter account I have.
-Use hootsuite to make it easier to respond to people on twitter (rather than opening every single email to respond to people). You can also use hootsuite to syndicate your blog to automatically post to twitter and your facebook page (so you don't have to do it each time, one less thing to do).
-Use the wordpress plugin Tweet Old Post if you have evergreen content (content that's relevant for a long period of time).
-Create something that you can give away for free (like an ebook) and have an email sign up for it. Then you can send blog updates periodically to those people too.
-If you don't get people to agree to let you guest post, you can post on web 2.0 sites (create a couple other blogger blogs, create a triond account, etc) and write articles on there with a link to your blog or a relevant blog post.

I think I'll stop there, but there really are hundreds of other things you can do. Also, make sure your grammar is good, blog posts are quality, and that your blog design is clean and/or interesting, has a custom look, and looks good to the eye.

For me, telling story is one of the best marketing strategy and to get the attention of your blog readers. Many of us love to read stories of other either their personal experience or someone experience that we can related.

You can share to social media group your latest blog post to get comments, youtube video, and forum posting

Just bolded the nice bit there.

Since surveying our readers, and finding out more aobut their wants and needs, we have seen insane results. Very insane. And its so simple to do. And in the end its gunna make your blog more appealing.

Goes back to the old FRANK KERN days of

      1) Dont be a pussy! (he he love franks sayings)

      2) SURVEY YOUR LIST!

      3) FIND OUT MORE ABOUT EXACTLY WHAT YOUR CUSTOMERS WANT

      4) GIVE IT TOO THEM!

These 4 things are so simple, but yet the best businesses that are the most successful are normally not complex one bit.

Furthermore these 4 things, IF DONE CORRECTLY, can make one alot of money.

If you give me the URL, I will be more than happy to analyze for you. Obviously first and foremost I don't care what other ppl say. Content is still the king, yes they are the king. Instead of writing every few days, try once every other day, copy the URL of the post regularly and check into google search engine and see how fast google is responding in terms of indexing your pages which give you a pretty good idea how popular your site is getting. If your blog is solely focusing on one or two very specific topics, perhaps you want to target some keywords covering the topics and start building some high authority backlinks for both authority building as well as search engine ranking purposes. If you have good contents to offer starting posting unique contextual on high PR blogs with (solid backlinks) not just any high PR blog, they got to have solid backlinks and decent authority. Hope this helps.

My secret is called the 'Mousetrap' technique.

The idea is when someone lands on my site they don't leave, EVER.

That means I can take it easy when I'm busy. For the last few months I've been busy with work and haven't done any marketing. Perhaps a few Reddit threads in 2 months.

Yet my bounce rate and average time on site stays the same, and my traffic keeps increasing. And that's without Google. Most of my traffic is direct.

      The MOUSETRAP technique .

I like to use the sensual connection technique. I set my comments to auto approve so that way I can connect and reply back to each any everyone. Some are on topic and some aren't, but regardless I make sure I talk to them. Some of my blog posts have over 1000 comments, but I try to find the time to talk to all of them, and they keep coming back and they comment on my other blog posts too!

some of my blogs are really competitive. For them I regularly post high quality articles and build links on a regular basis.
Some of them are average. And I post weekly one post there. and buy some monthly packages for them.
That's simple and that's my strategy.
    thanks

My strategy is different and it is far more productive. I have a section in my blog which i review in each of every day. The title of that section is 'question and answer'. Those who want answer should have a blog and if they get their answer then definitely they would follow me. And another thing is that i also need to learn new thing in each of every day.

You have to have an end goal in mind with every person that comes to your blog

Are you trying to just build your list? are you trying to make sales from your
    blog?

It could be any number of things

Personally for me I use my blog to:

    1. Brand myself within my industry
    2. Build my lists
    3. Presell my visitors before they enter any of my funnels
    4. Make some sales from products which I have
    5. Build my membership site

My blogs main purpose is for branding and everything else is just a bonus

With blogging you need to constantly put out some good helpful content and over time your traffic will build and you will start to build a loyal following

Your loyal following is the back bone of any successful blog

Those above are your two best techniques thus far, in my view. Here are additional experienced-based suggestions from me:

*Open a Tumblr account. Every time you publish a new blog post at your blog, publish it at Tumblr, too. Also, learn how to leverage Tumblr for your marketing efforts. (Just do a search engine keyword search for this and you will find plenty of quality information.)

*Open a StumbleUpon account if you don't have one. Every time you post a new blog post, Stumble it. Be sure to use as many appropriate Tags as you can, too.

*Stop mixing business with social pleasure on FaceBook. FaceBook is quickly becoming ineffective for marketing purposes, and it can even interfere with them.

*Make videos and create (or re-blog properly credited) images for posting at your blog, too.

*Instead of e-mailing other bloggers to guest blog for you, search out blogs that welcome guest bloggers (preferably those that pay you!), and do your own guest blogging. You will be allowed to link back to your own blog in your byline, and you will build relationships.

*Keep in mind that it's more important to write outstanding blog posts than it is to worry about SEO for blog posts.

*Use syndicated article publishing to bring traffic to your blog. Here's how: In Google, type in the phrase "Write for us" (yes, in quotation marks, just like that) and then a keyword or two corresponding with the overarching theme of your blog. Try to publish articles at the websites that come up as search results. These websites will usually pay you(!) if they publish your article, and they will allow you to link back to your blog.

*Take your time with building your blog following and visitor numbers. Always focus on consistency and quality.

*Do not rely on AdSense or anything else like it for revenues. Your blog needs to offer products for sale. Period.

*Consider paying to use Revisitors or Webfire to bring visitors to your blog.

Forget aboout all that other stuff - blog when you have something on your mind that you think others will find informative. If you do this - with the focus on your customer / user then all that other stuff will come. But, if you focus on everything else then your posts and your efforts will point in the wrong direction - forgeting about what you want in the first place - customers. Focus on your customers - everything else will come in time.

  • Hello there!
The best thing to do if you want your blog to last is to know what people want to read and write if you feel like writing. Squeezing your brain to write a post will only result to a robotic content which no one would like to read. Establish your connections by visiting other blogs too. That is one of the easiest ways to enjoy the world of blogging-- building rapport. This mostly applies if you are blogging for fun. But if you are into earning money, that is a completely different thing. Also, invest on your web design. It is as important as your content.
    Regards

    It is fairly typical
    - Find good keywords with little competition
    - Write unique high quality content on those keywords
    - Make a video out of it with the targeted keywords
    - Make sure all your tags are in the blog
    - Get comments and backlinks
    - And boom you have a simple blog ready to bring in traffic.
