I am getting 500+ visitors a day from Baidu. How can I monetize it?

I have a site related to gay dating. About a month ago, I noticed a surge in traffic, and after digging into the analytics I noticed that it was coming from Baidu (the Chinese equivalent of Google) for several keywords like gay, gay dating, gay personals, etc. I quickly found and joined an Asian gay dating affiliate program and put together a Wordpress site with a dating site feel to it. Over the last 30 days, I have received 8,714 visitors and only made $22, so I feel like I should be making a lot more based on the traffic.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can make more money from this traffic? Any Chinese offers that convert well? If there are any affiliate or CPA experts out there that have experience with converting Baidu traffic, please PM me and I will be happy to split any revenue that is generated over the next 30 days from your efforts.

Google ad sense is the most common and easy way to monetize one's blog or website.

Apart from that you can find out the various affiliate network related to your business, and place their ad on your site.

You can also place sponsored content on your blog, but all these will be succeeded only if you promote your blog or website regular basis on search engine and as well as do social media. The more you promote your site, the more chance you will get to monetize it.

Thanks for your input. I tried Adsense for about a week, but I was receiving clicks for about 4 or 5 cents a click. I then tried some Chinese CPA offers, and so far I have only made 15 cents off of those.

With the sponsored content, that is a bit tough, since all of the traffic is from China, and therefore most if not all of the visitors do not speak English. Part of my reason for posting this is in hopes that someone that is either Chinese or has experience with Chinese traffic and affiliate offers can point me in the right direction.

Not sure if Google would allow adsense in this market - as they don't like anything sex related. In this market, I would would look for CPA offers (something pays you for someone joining a dating site - a pay per sign up - no payment required. Its all above testing a tracking what works - and changing the system to fit. Congrates on making money its progress so celebrate the progress.

Thanks for your suggestions Paul. The $22 that I have made is from an affiliate company that pays me a $1 for every new member that signs up. I looked around, and found very few programs for gay dating for Asians.

Your last offer is very generous. I'm not in that niche. So, I won't talk about it. Your approach is right for getting attention. But perhaps I can give you some ideas for getting attention of more potential real guys in the same business.

    1. Try forums of your niche.
    2. Try to contact the pages of top rankings for your keyword (it's very hard to accomplish. But not impossible.)
    3. Propose traffic share with other sites.
    4. Check related clickbank products (won't do much good. But still something is better than nothing)
    5. Above all, look at other top ranking sites doing. Do the exact same.

    6. Finally, when nothing is working, flip it for high price and build another one. But flip it before the traffic drops.

I'll feel good if these ideas work for you. We'll love to hear what you are doing.

I couldn't see your site in the post.
      1. Are you collecting profile information on these people before you prompt them with advertisements? If you collect the profile information into your own database you can API this information to dating affiliate programs. I know of people who API these profiles to multiple sites. Collecting profile information on all your visitors also allows you to Sell/Rent All done without having an actual dating site.
      2. Are you polluting your content with too many ads? This can work against you if you are only generating a few dollars a day. Spreading out your clicks too thin prolongs your commission checks and makes your site very forgettable.
      3. Are you offering any "community" for your visitors? (Assuming you do not have a Full Featured Dating Site) Aside from links to places to find love you should have something for them to do that could make them want to come back. Simple things like a Chat Box and a Forum can greatly increase return hits if you can keep conversations moving. There are hundreds of them on Google if you search.

Send a link and I'll help you with any Ideas I think of while check out your site.
