How to get people to notice you online

For about three years, I've had Youtube videos, blogs, and products to sell. Nobody bought my stuff or commented on my blogs or videos. Now I'm working to publish a book, which should be out in less than a year. I've read that now's the best time to build an audience. Some ways on the internet I didn't agree with. Any advice? Thanks.

I once designed a flyer for a young writer that wrote a book. She was able to print them out and distribute them to others. She passed them out at her local farmers market weekly. She self promoted and sold many copies this way. Also, Once you have your official cover created, you will be able blow it up and ask small book stores if you can advertise your book cover picture in their store windows.

Start building a list, in the niche you are operating in. Announce to your list when the product is out. This is how most marketers do it, they build a list to notify people of their up coming product(s) and then send out email when product is out.

Too bad you decided to join the forum after three years of Internet marketing.
Forums are probably the best place to attract an audience for yourself. What niche are you in? If it's IM, you should have considered joining WF earlier.

    Audience machine: Research > Product/Book > Affiliates/Marketing > List > Audience!

Just one of the thousands of ways to grab an audience, assuming you provide value which is the no 1 thing.

    Cheers!

Kindle publishing platform can do wonders for you if you're willing to put some work into self-promotion early on in the process.

You can enter it in the KDP select program, get out some press releases, put up some trailer videos. Also join some indie publisher clubs (they will help you with promotions and honest reviews). If your book is really quality material, Amazon will take if from there and promote it with their own resources.

Place a link at the end of the book, link it to a squeeze page, and voila you have a early bird list (audience) for your next book.

After the KDP program period expires, place it on other digital-format book stores and promote again.

      Regards,
      Dan

If your book is targeted at children then it might be an idea to target Parenting and mother and child groups and forums. Put a banner on high traffic niche associated blogs, forums etc Publishing groups will give you advice but theywon't buy your book.

    Good luck

Looks like you have little experience on video marketing.

There are several factors that can be responsible for your video not converting and receiving comment.

    1. Poorly shot video.
    2. Low or no patronage.

Well, you are getting noticed now.

Get it published as a physical version on Amazon then approach at the same time create a downloadable paid version on a website. If you cant design sites get it outsourced. Then contact list owners related to children, parents and see if they will email their lists for a fee. This can get huge eyeballs looking at your amazon gig and also your website.

You could take it a step further and do a joint venture with large list owner giving them a percentage of all sales....just some ideas

Hope that helps you out and starts getting you thinking. There are many possibilities with this one

May be the title or the description of your videos
are not good enough. Make sure that you're targeting
some long tail keywords as the short tail keywords are
    tough to target.

    Thanks

I like these ideas. I've been thinking about videos on giving advice or how to's. Those should be better. I also use to interact a lot on Youtube, and my comments were often responded to.

In one word: branding. Create a name for yourself and establish that name. Create a YouTube channel, Twitter account, Facebook fan page, and your very own website as home base.

Build up followers and contribute in forums. Write articles and distribute them into article directories. Write more articles and ask other web owners to publish them on their website.

Create products and launch them. Reciprocate for JV's and affiliates and network as much as possible. This is a business, so treat it like one.

Run some ads for it. I would roll with blog marketing. How active is your blog?

I would suggest first doing some keyword research and put yourself in the position of your ideal customer. What types of keywords would they search for? You can find very quickly with keyword research where the traffic is going. You then can start creating content to position and be found for relevant keywords. You can be found in multiple ways: guest posting, video marketing, blogging, etc. My point is to first find what your target audience is searching for so you can position yourself to be there with high quality content. Build a list for all of your visitors that come to you...

If it's only to be noticed, then I would strongly recommend heavy online presents using your blog and social media, FB (if you can afford it, learn fb advertising, can be well targeted), Twitter and LinkedIn and many other platforms out there. Related Solo ads should also be good, even for sales. Go on related forums etc.

You either build a website, put a lot of content on it, do some SEO and start ranking and getting organic traffic or start using ads, your signature, and other methods.

It comes down to branding yourself through as many different channels as possible

Having a blog, social accounts, creating good free content, creating good products which people talk about and participating in forums is a good combination

It really comes down to constant work and action and putting yourself out there and over time you will start to get noticed

If it's a book then prolly you would want to contact goodreads. Here are few ways to build your brand and get people to notice you:

    1) Once your book is ready, try get yourself notice by leveraging on online press-release sites. Very affordable advertising - Doesn't guarantee to drive you lots of eyeballs though, but if it's done well, press-release drive you incredibly load of traffic (definitely worth the risk in my opinion). I use PRweb, they're great.

    2) List your book in Amazon, you'll get some pretty good traffic from there as well (free traffic).

    3) Contact book's review sites.. Ask if they are willing to write a review for your book. If not, pay them a small sum of money (usually around $50 on not so "popular" books review site) to get your review listed on their website.

NOTE: Some book's review sites are willing to do it for FREE! You just have to ask

    4) Videos. Create more videos on youtube educating your viewers for FREE. Don't create videos just to sell them something. Make yourself an authority on one subject. You'll get notice sooner or later.

    Hope this help,
    Jeremiah

how many videos you have published?

how many average views and clicks you are getting from every video?

how many articles you have on your blog?

have you submitted articles for building links, how many?

what is your offer you are selling?

do you have a squeeze page, follow up emails?

do you build relationship with your leads, if so what's your strategy?

do you have a sales funnel? if yes, how many products are built into your funnel and at what price range?

Probably your failure is hidden in the above questions, if possible post

    You gotta post links.

Here's one to my ebay side project:

    eBay Auction Tools

Heh. That's how you do it- self promotion.

But make sure you post links that are relevant.

Please note: the above link should not be considered spam as it was used for demonstrative purposes.

Whatever the case, backlinks are the fundamental building block for all traffic.

Another thing to consider is advertising. You can acquire customers via google adwords, for example. But those services are kind of expensive.

You have to figure that the top keywords are the most expensive. "Insurance" would cost you in excess of 5 bucks to get a good position. And figure that your bounce rate is 50 percent. You are spending 10 dollars to get one pair of eyes on your page! So, focus on the lesser expensive single word alternatives- or phrase. Even if you could find a few keywords to target at 50 cents it can still get expensive.

But if you set a budget at 5 bucks a day for starters- and this can apply to MSN ad services, too, you can find some good customers.

    Lastly-

I say Google is expensive, but these clicks are generally GOOD and qualified customers-- high conversion rates. Had to clarify.

I think this has been said already but let me reiterate: You need to put yourself out there!

If you build it, they won't come. That's the fact about the internet these days. How many accounts are there on YouTube? Do you have any idea how many blogs are created every single hour? There are just too many options out there so if you want people to come to your sites and comment, you need to go where they are and comment.

You're writing a children's fantasy book...look for book forums, go to mom blogs and leave useful comments. Look for other authors in your genre and visit their blogs and leave useful comments. USEFUL, being the operative word here; don't spam.

Identify who the industry leaders/influencers are in your genre and 'friend' them on FB. Follow them on Twitter and re-tweet their stuff. Basically what I'm saying is, if you're not ready to give honestly and unselfishly, don't expect to receive. Oh, and don't forget the Amazon forums too.

Good luck with your book; I hope you outsell Amanda Hocking
