    I used to work for Nike in Memphis, I was in Quality Assurance but I was amazed I had never been involved in this business. All of these temps with headphones and a little black box that would speak the order to them. They were all over the place it was either 4 or 5 stories.

    I can only imagine how far they walked each day. Once woman told me she had been there 6 months and had lost over 40lbs. They called them pickers, almost all temps paid about $9 an hour.

      My first impression of how Amazon does this is semi-automated... staffs according to products just have to read orders and put the items there (in a box moving on a machine moving in the main aisle). Never thought one have to walk throughout the warehouse just to pick each items. That's hard labor.
