I am getting charged the following:

Stores 5,000 Leads - $30.00
Email Marketing & Analytics - $19.00

Total: $ 49.00
Does this look right?

If you go to this page:

Affordable Email Marketing - Price Your AWeber Account and click on Pricing for over 500 subscribers, you will see that this is right. $30 per month but I am not sure about the Email Marketing & Analytics - $19.00 since I just started using them in the past few months.

Now, for some people the 10,001-25,000 subscribers for $130 may seem high but when you are earning a few $1000's per month with what ever you are promoting, that $130 is nothing and is small change.

Yes, it's right. Why they do it that way is beyond me, but the $19 is the base that everyone is charged, then there is a second item for the size of the list.

    Tip incoming!

    Ready?

Once you pass a certain threshold (eg 500), you'll be charged more.
What most customers are forgetting, is that your unsubscribes are counted as well
Contact support, ask them to delete your unsubscribes (reset them) from your account and ask them to charge you according to your active subscribers.

    Hope this helps

Why would you waste time contacting support to delete unsubscribes? Just do it yourself from the subscribers search page and the (built-in) unsubscribed segment and clicking the Erase checkbox.

Meh, when you have 20 lists it gets tiring. But you can do that of course.

They got me with this one month. LOL.. I deactivated the list thinking I was slick. Thought I could just deactivate it until bill was paid then reactivate it and send out emails.

That's when Customer support told me what you just said. Gotta fully remove any subs you don't want from their system if you don't want to be charged for them

Looks right to me. If you are not satisfied there are other places like getresponse and officevp. Not sure about their pricing but it may be something you'd be interested in

Whenever I get unfamiliar charge, i go and check with the company. They got chat support, they would explain it better, and if it is a mistake or additional feature, you can figure it out with them.

Just one of the MANY reasons why I moved from hosted to self hosted
years ago and would never go back.

Once these guys have got you by the b*lls they squeeze just as
hard as they can... and as I'm sure the gentlemen around here can
    attest...THAT HURTS

If you have even the slightest technical savvy and are vaguely
interested you can easily run your own self hosted and use
any of the many stmp relay companies for sending. It works
just as good as the hosted and in some respects it's even
    better.

There are a bunch of threads discussing the merits of each
type of solution so if you do a search you'll get both sides
    of the debate.

    Good luck

Well, there are other alternatives such as getResponse and Constantcontact. These products have been around for quite some time and have lots of customers.

There are also cloud email marketing services that charge less than Aweber.

Yes that's right, are you not making much money from these lists as $49 a month to potentially reach that amount of targets isn't very much?

Yes it is right unfortunately for those of us that use that service. It is a good service but make sure that you get rid of your unsubscribes and your undeliverables because Aweber also takes them into account.
If you don't know how to do it just PM me and I will show you how.

      Now I'm confused.

On Awebers pricing page it says,
for 501-2500 the price is $19.00 + Subscriber Cost $10.00.

      So that's $29.00!?

Where are all these other figures coming from?

      Am I missing something?

Sorry. Figured it out now. It's the wording that confuses.

At 5000 subscribers, The Pricing Plan stays at $19.00 (Fixed)
At 5000 subscribers, The Subscriber Pricing is $30.00

As somebody else said, "if you have 5000 subscribers, you should be making at least enough to cover $49.00 per month".

The tip to remove unsubscribes is very useful though, and could save a mint.

Did you click on the link on the right that says 'Pricing for over 500 subscribers'

They make it intentionally vague and offer the $1 sign up to suck in
newbies and once they're on the hook they've got them forever

You can delete unsubscribes within your Aweber control panel. I do it once a month at the beginning of the month.

Simply go to Subscribers - search for Unsubscribes - Check All - Delete.

Yes, but you have to do that for each and every list. As mentioned above when you have 40+ lists that becomes quite a laborious and unnecessary task. I still have no idea why Aweber do not provide a one click solution to remove unsubs from all lists at once if we want to. I can only think they do not because they realize the harder they make it for people the less often people delete their unsubscribes and the more money they make from having all those unsubscribes in the system.

Damn, I'm glad I still have my old Aweber account. $19 for 10,000 leads and $10 for each additional 10,000.

Sorry, I really shouldn't rub that in

I was initially astonished when AWeber started charging me more when I reached the threshold of 500 leads but I've come to accept it as AWeber's policy.

Nonetheless, this is right and AWeber has been implementing this for some time.

    No worries!

I've got over 100 lists with Aweber, so once a month I pop into live chat and the rep "bulk" deletes all my unsubscribes. Much easier to do it that way than manually when you have that many lists.

I like Aweber, but their pricing structure sometimes makes me scratch my head.

When you can take people off your list who are not responsive then that can help you push down what you pay each month. Once you grow your list every month and don't delete your current members who are not responsive, what you pay on a monthly basis for using Aweber will go up.

If you have over 100,000 subscribers I don't see how paying an auto-responder fee would be an issue. If it is an issue than you're a pretty cheap person. Aweber's rates are really good no matter what size list you have.
