It's faster to walk, than run
After reading the press release, (which should never have been approved) I decided to visit the site and take a closer look.
Upon hitting the site I found, complete over optimization, and I mean, BAD. There were keywords EVERYWHERE. In the links, in the menus, in the images, EVERYWHERE. To put it simply, the quality of the site is absolute garbage. Its obvious whoever is running this site is trying desperately to rank for these keywords, and is willing to throw money at it via PRWeb.com - which we all know takes a few bucks.
I then decided, "Okay, let's see if this site is ranking anywhere, for these terms".
I then spent a good 5 minutes digging around on Google, to find that this website was nowhere. It wasn't ranked anywhere. I thought "Okay, that's a bit strange, perhaps it's a brand new site ....surely?"
I then ran the site through a domain age checker and its come back with ......
Domain Created on:
October 15 2010
Domain age (approximately):
2 Years, 3 Months, 10 days.
As you can see, this domain is over 2 years old. You would *think* that a domain of this age *should* be ranked SOMEWHERE - even for long tail stuff. But no, nothing, nowhere.
And you know why?
Because the numbskull behind it, is trying to blast low quality crap in all directions, simply to try and make a few quick dollars.
You know whats ironic here?
The fact that even after over 2 years, this site is STILL not performing. This just reminds me of how many people I see trying to SHORTCUT their way to riches by blasting useless rubbish everywhere with this "hit and miss" mentality.
Read the title - its faster to walk, than run.
This means that with all the time that's wasted trying to "shortcut" your way to the top - people that are building REAL sites, with quality content, are going to be the real winners. They're the ones willing to put in the hard yards, be patient and really get the long term benefits.
There seems to be this mentality of "Authority sites take too long, it's too slow and its too hard"
Trying to shortcut the process takes twice as long, is far more frustrating and in the end leaves you with NOTHING.
Time for a cuppa.
