After uploading this theme, which is very good, I noticed two very small ads. One at the top left and one at bottom of page. They are just words for "online gambling" and "car insurance". I did not put them there so any ideas how they got there and how to get rid of them would be helpful. There is no indication in the back room of the site as I have not started to customise yet. Very strange.

I wouldn't trust that theme if I were you.

That is not a problem. You just need to do your own research about themes and even addons for themes "before" you decide to install on your website. If it helps, Flex3 is a solid theme and the paid versions are simply amazing compared to similar themes.

Go ahead and use Flex3 for a while to learn the ins-and-outs of creating a site and if that does not fit your fancy simply use a different theme. Just be advised that switching themes sometimes does not always go as smooth as it used to before WP 3.5.

A lot of theme developers giveaway free versions of their themes with links in the footer. Take the time and see the website for more information and more importantly learn how to use the theme (just like any product):

You can remove the links if you upgrade to a paid version. Take the time and see the website for more information and more importantly learn how to use the theme (just like any product):

You must be using the free version which includes these add links in the footer.

You will need to buy the paid version to use the theme without any links.

Get rid of the theme, simple.

If they appeared when you activated the theme then its not worth using.

I use Flexibility3 myself. You just need to go to your blog dashboard, Flexibility options and either disable it or replace the ad with your own. The upgrade is to remove the Flexibility credit from your blog.

I think you don't need upgrade as some people suggested. Just change the options from the dashboard.

    Hope this helps.

Thanks to everyone and the correct answer is, I think, that in the options there is a "remove footer links" option and I have to buy it to turn them off. I think I will buy it then I can get the support option. I don't mind their theme name being at the bottom of the page. They deserve the credit.

Good for you. That is honest and you are a credit to product developers. A good sign of someone I would consider doing business with.

Licensing Terms for Flexibility 3 Theme
    =============================
    6. Licensee agrees to not remove or in any way alter, mask or hide the attribution links in the footer of Flexibility 3 theme. Footer links can be removed only by purchasing Flexibility 3 from Advantus Media, Inc.

IMHO, it is always a good idea to check the license for a theme. People in this thread that advise to just go ahead and remove the links obviously have not read the license.

The Flexibility 3 theme is a free theme that has an abundance of features. In exchange for getting a free theme with features it will include ads. You can upgrade to the version without ads for only $47.

The license for the theme states that it includes ads. There is a link on the website to buy the version without ads.

Flexibility 3 is a great theme and I highly recommend it.
