Did you buy your sites when you started in IM?

I was just wondering if we can get the same results if we buy one if we have a little bit of money to start rather than building them ourselves unless we really don't have anything to start off with that.

So mind sharing if you buy your first sites or built it?

How was it?

You'll be saving a ton of time purchasing pre-made/tailored to you sites rather than coding them yourself if you don't know how.

I can code them myself since I know html and wordpress, but it still takes a considerable amount of time I can be spending on other things.

Thanks. Yeah that's what I was thinking as well. That it might be worth it if they can set it up within a week and I can monetize it within a month.

if you want to buy websites, then flippa is the best place for you. i never bought any website. i use wordpress to build my sites from scratch and i write the posts myself. doing this gives you more advantage over your own website than to buy a pre-made webiste

Buying sites can be a good way to speed up your success, but you need to be careful not to get duped into paying way more than something is worth. Make sure the traffic and income stats are genuine, and check what you need to do to keep these going - many sellers inflate their figures by buying traffic or getting it from some other source that will disappear once you get the site. You can get good sites, but do be wary.

Buying a complete made website helps to save a lots of time. As for me, i started out building site on my own all because at that time there is little cash on me.But now that am able to generate some consistence cash, and want to move my internet business to the next level all i have to do i the go over to flippa and see some of the site that suite my needs and made purchase.

Thank you so much for your replies I appreciate it. I already have a website of my own which I built myself. And honestly it's not doing much, there's not much traffic either.

Then I thought "I'm able to make at least $100/month on fiverr, why not save a bit of money and buy sites that are already profitable". There are sites I can see here that are as low as $50. That's why I asked this question, and I'm glad I did.

Yes, buying websites do save you a lot of time. Be vigilant in choosing the sites to purchase, especially those highly priced sites. Lots of fake data floating around.

My friend bought a site for 2-3k but the result is disappointing.. On the other hand, you can buy bargain site in Flippa, drive some traffic, and make decent income from there.

If you are a newbie I would stay away from any expensive website purchases. As someone new in the field you won't be able to determine if the website represents a good investment.

Buying sites off of WaFo that are built and ranked for you by a forum member is a crap shoot at best. In my experience, most of these purchases end up as a bust. The provider might end up not building the site, not ranking it, getting it penalized, or just disappear all together. Seen it all. Sadly, some of these guys just make a new handle after tarnishing their old one and start all over.

Occasionally, you will find someone who is good to their word, but these guys are the exception not the rule. Do your diligence and when you find a good provider, stick with them.

And to answer your question, when I started I had some cash to invest. So I built my own sites to learn the ropes and later on made a few website purchases on Flippa. 2 out of 3 of the purchases turned out to be duds. The last was profitable.

Thank you so much! Seeing that I'm not having any success with my three sites, maybe it is time that I just save money to buy one from the warrior forum. I've seen some great offers there. I agree that crap shoot at best but there are also those who stick to their word and that's what I will be looking for. Thank you guys. I think making a purchase of $100 for one site for a guaranteed adsense income wont' be a bad idea after all.

The first site that made me money was one I bought. Paid $500 for it and the rest is history lol

    Hi everyone,

I started by building my sites myself!

It cost me a lot of time and work but
    I think it was worthy!

But I outsource things now too.

    All the best
    Erwin

I bought a few autoblogs when I started, but realised they were rubbish so I just let the domains expire. I had some sites built by a freelancer, which proved to be more cost effective than buying established sites.

I see this like anything else, I wouldn't matter if you built a McDonalds yourself - by hand or if you paid for the construction to be done. The thing is, do you have a thought out plan before it's even built to make you successful? Yes, you can have the same results if you have the same plan regardless if you build it or not.

I built my first sites, using wordpress and no knowledge of seo, I had fun doing it and learning how t rank websites, admittedly my first websites weren't great, but I learnt a lot by just doing it.

I think that you should build your site first, and when you have lots of experience buy them. The reason is that you will become an investor if you buy sites, and an investor needs to know the ins and outs of an industry to buy the riight sites and avoid being scammed.

I built mine by myself using Wordpress.org, which is by far the easiest way to build a new site from scratch even if you're just starting out.

You could easily go buy a pre-existing site, and then pray that you can keep it going successfully.

If you've never owned or created your own site before, I don't recommend buying one.

    Why?

The amount of experience and knowledge I gained building my first sites is priceless. It's just something that you need to tackle with first hand experience.

If you've never owned a site before, how will you know how to keep a pre-existing one running successfully?

Like most of the other posters on here, I built my first website using wordpress.

Depending on the complexity of your site, your budget, and how much you actually know about what you're doing, buying can be helpful.

But if you already have several sites, you might want to figure out why they're not working before you spend time/money on another site. Are you getting good traffic? Did you monetize it?

No. I forced myself to learn HTML. Old school, baby!

Eventually I moved over to Dreamweaver, which I still use from time to time. But now it's mostly just Wordpress.

I own a word press website. The purpose of having one is really to make experiments on it on how this whole IM through websites work. I also got some free from blogsite. I'm not having any luck so far.

The next step I was thinking of is supposed to be buy about 50 keyword articles which I believe is going to cost about $100 all in all? Then there's the traffic or SEO/Backlink building which is going to be at least $100 in my calculation.

Then I saw some sites for sale as low as $50-$100 and some of them provide backlinks for the first 3-6 months or so and you can just buy some continuous update for them for $50 or so.

Not bad if I'm going to spend the same if I build one for myself.

At least that's the idea for now.

I'd be a little weary about the backlink quality, though.
