what does backorder mean with domain names

I am trying to get a domain
according to Who.is it expired in February but doesnt seem to be generally for sale
It says I can backorder it
What does this mean when will it be listed

    You can order it in back order but that is no guarantee that you will get it once it does or if it does become available. Once the registrar releases it, you can purchase it but there is still a chance the previous owner will renew during the grace period.

    'Backordering' for a domain means that you pay for the hosting company to try to get the web address for you when it becomes available.

    They are not guaranteeing anything as the current owner has first choice when it comes to renewing.

    You could be waiting for years for the current lease to expire so you might want to think about a slight variation to the name.
