Name Your Own Price Vs Review Copies?

Hi Warriors,

Currently testing a little theory I have that perhaps you can get more honest feedback if you let people name their own price vs giving out review copies.

I've decided I'd like to let people name their own price as an experiment for a little while and see what type of results I pull off.

The problem with the platform that I'm using to do this does not accept Paypal (strange).

My question is - do you think that is a smarter way to garner honest reviews or is there another way to do this that you suppose would be better?

Let me know what you think and please feel free to PM me if you're interested in the offer I'm testing.

Regards

Another way to get the reviews you are after is specify requirements that qualify for the reviews. Maybe you want someone to have 50+ post and have been a member of the site for 1-3 months. On some of the higher ticketed items, maybe you are looking for someone that has 100+ posts and has been a member for 6+ months. Just keep in mind who you are trying to get to purchase your product also. If all reviews are coming from more novice IM'ers, this will most likely not give a point of view for newbies.

If you really want to charge and let them make an offer, then send an invoice to their paypal. Just because the platform you are using does not allow it, does not mean you can't send an invoice to the user.

    Just my thoughts.

    Good luck.

@BamaGuy - its these types of questions and thought provoking responses that have helped shape my success in the IM world. I totally forgot that I could simply submit a paypal request, which is what I'm going to revise and upsate my offer to include....geez....

You, sir are the type of person I love interacting with.

Thanks so much for the right under my nose insight.

I agree with BG's recommendations but want to make sure you consider something else.

Are you going to offer this outside of the WF?

The reason I'm asking is because there are different perceptions in different location depending on the niche.

In other forms that I belong to you could sign-up today and drop some relevant and good quality information and you'd be perceived no differently from someone who registered 10 years ago and has 50+ posts but hasn't been active for the last 10 years.

Here in the WF and in many other IM related forums the 'when you joined means seniority' things tends to be more pronounced, even though a so called nebwe could be a successful business owner, a million dollar entrepreneur or someone that's achieved a high-level of success in their field. Their view on things would be as high, if not higher, than the 'senior' who has been around forever but isn't comparatively active.

Just some things to help you determine your path.

    Hope this helps.

    Hi Bayo,

I appreciate the input, however, I wasn't clear on whether or not you addressed the question... if you did, I apologize but perhaps i just didn't get it.

Are you saying I should care from whom the feedback I receive comes from or whom i should try and get feedback from?

Sorry, but totally appreciate your input.

If you could, please explain whenever you get a chance and thanks so much.
