YouTube Videos + Offer-Question

I've seen a few threads about using YouTube to promote affiliate offers, and I have a question for anyone who's done it successfully. I've used YouTube for traffic, but not for affiliate product promotion.

Some people say making product review videos for clickbank products works pretty well. What I'm wondering is if anyone has had a reasonable amount of success by targeting other keywords related to the general niche. It would seem like doing this would work just about like it would with articles, but similarly, the conversion rate would probably be alot lower that a "product review".

One huge advantage of just targeting general keywords is that you could plug in any related product you wanted. There's also another advantage: potentially much less competition for your video.

By the way I know that YouTube doesn't like affiliate links, but you can always just use a domain redirect, send them to your own landing page, or even better, build a list.

What's your question? You want to know if you can use YT to promote affiliate offers other than IM products?

No, sorry if I wasn't clear.

My question is this: Has anyone made general, informative videos on a specific niche, vs. a review video on a CB product? If so, did you have good results doing that?

Yeah. Why? I thought you're a traffic specialist. My advice is to stay away from what is popular. Everyone and their mother is trying the CB review system. It only works if you differentiate yourself from everyone and their mother.

You'll have an easier time promoting fancy feast through videos of your cat being all cute. I don't mean to be mean, but this question is kinda like asking, "can I make money online? No really, can I?"

        Youtube + Clickbank does work.

In fact, you can promote any affiliate products (W+, Clicksure).
        These are less saturated.

From my experience these type of videos converts best:
        1. WP Plugin or Software in action review
        2. Inside look of the Clickbank product + showing your own results you got using the product

Yes, I don't seem to gather your question too..

You are asking whether Google allow a link to your
    URL.?

It will not affect you as your URL is in your description.
Google has no control on this.

You are not running PPC with Adwords or YouTube Ads..

These are two different traffic sources
One is free.. Other is paid..

Hope that this is what you are looking at

You mean make a generic video like 'Flat Belly Eating Tips' that links to Truth About Abs rather than a 'Truth About Abs Honest Review'.

So when Truth About Abs is no longer popular or converting you can keep using the same video but simply change the link to P90X.

    Is that right?

The advantage of using a specific product review is that your traffic will be much more trageted and actually looking for that product.

A generic video will provide information related to the product, but your viewers and traffic won't be people specifically looking for that product.

So creating specific reviews is more work, but those videos are much more likely to convert because people are looking for the product you are linking to.

You could get more traffic with generic videos, but the conversion rate likely won't be as high.

I've changed the offer on this video twice in two years. I have hundreds of similar videos. Very few are product specific and none are "reviews."

You can get this to work if you get ranked with your Videos but I guess you probably know that. Beside that, yes, I tried and it does work but not like a charm. I more get sales every now and then directly from my videos.
Here is a list with on and off page factors that help me get my videos ranked:
The Ultimate Guide On How To Rank YouTube Videos : Living For Mondays
in the end - just try it and make it double efficient:
create a video and a review, then add the video not just to youtube but several sites and, even better, add it to your blog post. then promote the heck out of both or send some views to your video.
youtube can stand lots of links and views ;-)

YouTube will never ban your video when it's legal, unless competition doesn't flag it.. But if you have strong videos, there is no way your videos can be removed.. It leaves you with all videos on autopilot... Just optimize every peace of it until you move to next one.. You should be good.

    Best of luck!
