Long Sales Letter Vs single long video Which converts Better

Hi, i have seen lot of long sales letter with fancy graphics and colors to convince the visitor.

I also came across lot of sales pages ( i am sure what i need to call it) where there will be just a video and add to cart button. Most videos are 20 > Minutes long. So if some one sticked and watched the video till the end there is a huge chance they that visitors will be converted into sale.. I think that is most power full thing about this.

What do you think which converts better ?

Well look, that's something you have to test, right? Depends on what market you're talking about, and a lot of other things to boot.

If you have someone with the personality and screen presence of a Frank Kern, then a video will probably do well.

There's no way to generalize and say a video will always beat a sales letter, or vice versa.

You'll have to test it, to know for sure.

And then again, there's "which do you think converts more people?", which isn't necessarily exactly the same question. Some serious affiliates, for example, simply aren't willing to send their traffic to video sales pages, because of their awareness of their subscribers' feelings on this subject. And if that's the case, it would be theoretically possible for the video one to convert a higher proportion on a split-test but still make fewer sales, overall, simply because it gets so much less traffic sent to it.

Just my perspective. (Well, mine and that of countless other marketers too, I should say: http://www.warriorforum.com/off-topi...o-content.html ).

The video is 20 Minutes long and it is focused on how to use crowd funding websites and how to raise money for your start up or project.

I am pretty sure, as long as the visitor watch the video i'll gain more and more attention and it'll converts really well ( my observation)

Sounds like "guessing" to me, rather than observation.

"Observation" arises when you set up a text sales page and a video sales page and send 2,000/3,000 randomly divided visitors from the same traffic sources to each, and compare the conversion-rates. (For what it's worth, the people I know who do that always seem to abandon the video page. Sometimes they even abandon it half-way through the test, because it's costing them so much traffic, just to test it. That's part of why so many people end up saying things like this).

My average stay time on a video-only page is under 1 second. Perhaps because I know how to read ...
