One thing i have never used while i have been involved in IM is Yahoo Answers.

Does anyone still use Yahoo answers to make money and how are you doing it.

Will they will ban your account if you promote any affiliate offers?

This was all discussed here only a couple of days ago.

If they notice, of course they will. It's difficult enough to keep your links on the board there when you link to your own sites, never mind to affiliate offers.

But it wouldn't make very much difference, because you can't realistically hope to sell many affiliate offers by direct-linking to sales pages anyway. Most affiliate sales come from relationship-building and acquiring respect and trust, so that people are willing to rely on the strength of your recommendations. This thread may help you (ignore the word "ClickBank" in it - its underlying points are also true of "affiliate marketing" in general - it's kind of "Afiiliate Marketing 101"): http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...ml#post7110523

Yahoo Answers is still one of my favourite traffic.
If you spam Yahoo community, then yes you will be banned.
I am not sure of affiliate link, but I think it might not be allowed.

Why don't you put links to your own site instead of direct affiliate link?

I get traffic from 1 of the Yahoo Answers I left to a question about 3 years ago. That particular answer is ranking on the first page of Google for a pretty high volume keyword.

Getting traffic from Yahoo answers these days seems to be much harder.

    Of course it still works

As long as you're providing value and answer questions related to your niche/offer you will not get banned.

But as all free methods, it takes some work.

    Cheers,

This is by no means necessarily so!

Whether or not you'll get banned depends primarily on whether your posts are "flagged" by competitors or by anyone else. That may vary a little, from niche to niche, depending on how competitive they are. Providing value and answering questions related to your niche/offer are far from a guarantee of not getting banned there, as countless Warriors have attested to in many other threads on this subject.

Yahoo answers is a great way to drive traffic but be smart about it, if you can post a link to your own site that generally helps the user and you have ads on it promoting the product or service then this would be one of the best ways of doing it

You would not be banned for this and there is a high chance they will visit your site, read the content then click the banner and possibly buy the product/service
