Copyeditor, Editor, or Ghost Writer? What do I need to Hire?

I think I already posted similar question before but I can't find it now and can't remember exactly what was the responses.

I am about to finish my first fiction novel and since I am not really good in writing a novel that I can't show so much emotion, I need someone to rewrite my work and translate those verbals into strong emotion...

I need someone who can do like this (but not exactly as complex as this)

From this:

"Mr. Paxton's eyes were sad as he gave her the news. "I'm sorry, JoAnne, but your position with the company is no longer necessary."
Instantly, JoAnne was angrier than she'd ever been in her life."

To this:

JoAnne sat on the chair's edge, spine straight as a new pencil, and stared into Mr. Paxton's face. Sixteen years she'd given him--days she was sick, days the kids were sick--making the trip back and forth across town on that sweaty bus. Now he wouldn't even look at her, just kept fiddling with her folder and rearranging the fancy knickknacks on his desk. Clearly, he didn't want to give her the news, but she wasn't about to make it easy for him.

The vinyl of her purse crackled and she lightened her grip on it. Her picture of the kids was in there and she didn't want it creased.
Mr. Paxton cleared his throat for the hundredth time. "JoAnne...Mrs. Benson...it appears that your position with the company is no longer--"
JoAnne jerked to her feet, sending her chair flying over the tile. It hit the wall with a satisfying bang as she stormed from the office.

As I mentioned, my writing style is very simple and I need someone to somehow put some strong acts and emotion similar to the above changes, but not as complex and long as the above translation (taken from The Emotion Thesaurus).

Do I need a ghostwriter, editor, or copyeditor?

Any suggestion is highly appreciated.

You need a ghostwriter if you want someone to add all of that additional text.

Then, after they've finished writing, you need an editor to go through the whole thing and make sure it makes sense.

I have several friends who are hiring ghost writers for that...

Eventually, your best bet will be to learn to do it yourself.

My first drafts tend to be lean and mean... then I embellish in the second draft. ;-)

Either way, plan to go over the version you get back with a fine toothed comb. LOL

And, as Gob just mentioned... plan on an editor.

It's been 7 months since I started this book and I already modified it countless times but still I'm not convinced with my final output.. lol. yes, I plan and really need to have an editor but I think an editor is limited to do the above changes?

Do you, or some other warriors have any idea how much does it cost for a 75,000-word book to be rewritten by a ghost writer? or by the editor?

      Thank you

        Hi Adie -

I have no idea what either will cost. I do know that you should expect a broad price range for each job.

I also know that there will be good people on the low end and bad people on the high end... so price is not necessarily indicative of quality and competency.

If you are lucky, someone may tell you who they use, but... I am seeing most of my friends holding info like this close... ;-)

Thanks for the info. I am starting to do some research for people who can do this and I hope I can find a good one who can be a reliable partner for my future works as well.
