Hi,

Im uploaded my first proper website and my template isn't showing and i dont no why. Everything is uploaded correctly, on the webpage there is writing but no template .

When i click on the html files in my hard drive they open up in firefox or IE perfectly, but when i type in domain it just goes downhill.

If anyone could pm to help or assist me here that would be great.

(i downloaded my template if that helps)

Thanks

Trung

Trung, the problem is a common one when people use Dreamweaver. The
path of your files, if you look at the source code of your HTML, will show
the template pointing to your C drive. You need to change the path so that
it points to your actual URL of where the template is.

Used to happen to me all the time until I finally figured it out.

I've never had this problem but was thinking maybe the CSS file didn't get uploaded? But then again I've never uploaded from Dreamweaver itself. I just find it easier to use an FTP program.

Think Steve hit it right, happens quite often.

What do you get? A blank page?

Missing CSS shouldn't stop the page from showing, just might be messed up.

I love the ftp in dreamweaver, better than an external ftp. Though I still use another ftp program from time to time.

It sounds like the .css file either isn't uploaded to your server or isn't attached to your index page.

If you right click you can reattach the .css file.

Its confusing at first but you'll soon get the hang of it!

Stevens advice is good usually at the top of the html you can see where the index page is looking for the .css file - often it can be your cdrive.

I usually delete all of the /// and point it to mytemplate.css and make sure i've uploaded the css file by opeing the css file and then using file/save to server.
