Through my years of studying IM. I have realized that it is in practice really nothing but investment and managment. Educationally i have found it to really be nothing but project management and marketing i.e. planning & research.

Would reffering IM to
- project managment
- Marketing
be to technical

For those who don't know
marketing is not advertising. The application of marketing is really different from IM. I have yet to find an IM book that looks at the subject like a book about marketing and project management. Read the books

- Marketing Research - An Applied Approach
- Philip_Kotler - Principles Of Marketing
- Kotler On Marketing: How To Create, Win, and Dominate Markets
- Marketing Strategy from the Masters
- Execution - The discipline of getting things done
- Project Management: A Systems Approach to Planning, Scheduling, and Controlling
- Fundamentals of Project Management for Development Organizations
- The Art of Project Management (Theory in Practice)
- Fundamentals of Project Management

Marketing includes advertising and promoting the product or service. The marketing is using advertising as a way to persuade people to buy what you have. It includes copywriting - that is part of the persuasion.

Internet Marketing is marketing on the internet. The internet is just one of the mediums to use just like TV, radio, print. It is everything you note in your post.

yes. I was trying to point out that all of the IM courses i took did not cover anything in; in depth planning and strategical execution. They teach you model concept and then "tell" you what you should do to launch.

Yes but reading those books have expanded and evolutionized my ideas. IM courses teach you model concept and then the planned steps but not the actual market planning and research and a strategy or any ideology to disrupt your competitors.

You're confusing average digital IM 'courses' from actual IM.

IM is IM. Everyone is using it differently and has a different approach and different education and business model they're applying to their IM. Apple's approach to their IM is very different from some Ebook sellers or Affiliafe bloggers approach. And it's very different from Google's IM.

It's just marketing using the interwebs. There are University courses on Internet Marketing and they're very different from some affiliate Ebook on IM.

I'm not confusing anything. I'm looking at it academically.

One thing is for sure tho..
When you can spot a trend and quickly create a resource on that topic and make several thousand dollars very quickly there is no better feeling...OK not many better feelings in the world.

Exactly i cannot tell you how many times i have annihilated competition and it is all because i have read books that look at it very closely and in different aspects. The more education you have the more you will benefit, the more you can see, the more you can understand, the better you can solve obstacles that will typically and inevitably occur. I sometimes get exhausted from this, because it is literally a never ending process of education. Their is always something else you don't know that will allow you to progress more than others.
