Potential customer DB for offline promo

Hi,

I'm looking to do some offline promotion for a company, with directmails to customers all over the world. Primarily Europe and North America.

Do you know where I can find databases over registered companies, divided on industry.

For instance if I want to target a directmail at accounting companies in Germany and New York, it would be great to have a list of companies, including company name, address, phone number, CTO, CEO, CFO and so forth.

Do you know any good ones, and hopefully not too expensive?

Can you recommend any services that offer world wide directmailings?

For manufacturers, you could try the Thomas Register. I used to use the print version (about the shelf space of a big encyclopedia), but the info is available online now.

I'm primarily looking for businesses selling services, based on an hourly basis, though.
