Personal Blog experience..

Hey all, so I'm releasing my personal blog today. I've created a marketing strategy with all the experience that I have, and so I just want to hear YOUR experiences with a personal blog.

With a personal blog, were you able to profit a good amount of $$? Or was it a waste of time? I'm talking about a personal blog with daily posts, a lot of UV and returning visitors.

You don't need to mention what niche. I just want to know from a "personal" blog standpoint compared to a "product/service" type of site.

    You can profit a lot with a personal blog.

    It works much better compared to a "company style" blog.

    If you share your personal views and opinions and your life with your readers
    they will trust you much more and in return appreciate your opinions and recommendations.

      Thank you! That just gave me a TON of confidence. I've been focused on so many "MFA" type of sites. And I'm over it. I want to build a personal blog that I have a passion for where returning visitors will come AND unique visitors as well.

        Passion is the best guarantee to achieve anything.

        You visitors will "see" your passion and admire you for that.

    Just throwing in my two cents, I'd say it just depends what you post.

    It will be obvious to readers if you're only trying to generate sales as an affiliate, but if you truly offer value, then readers might come back.

      Well, of course I'd like to generate sales. But the primary focus is my daily blog . I guess I'll just have to find that overall balance. I see a lot of fashion bloggers mixing it up.


      It sucks if I were an affiliate for Amazon..I'd have to put that lame ass disclosure at the very bottom which makes the site a bit tacky IMO.

    I wouldnt say that a personal blog is a go to thing for generating revenue, but if you add some value you should squeeze something out.

    Well, with people like John Chow, you don't have to ask that question. Personally, I'd like to know that it's a person behind all those advices, and that one day, it is possible to be where they are today.

    I'm gonna go for a personal blog too. Right now, I'm focusing on my review site, but I'll be starting my personal blog in a few days too.

    So, wish me luck and I wish you the same.
