Does anyone know of a Directory Submitter where I can add my own directory's to and remove any already furnished?

Have you tried http://directorysubmitter.imwishlist.com/download-free/ ? I used this a few years ago and I remember being able to add new directories and it keeps track of which ones you submitted to.

I have also looked into http://www.fastdirectorysubmitter.com/ but haven't had the time to try it.

Are you asking about url directories, or article directories?

        A better question would be

"Could anyone give me some examples of how to totally waste my time"

This is also true, Al ... but if the question turns out to be about article directories, I can say that more clearly and explain why it would be not only non-beneficial but positively damaging to do that. If it's a url-directory question, then it's your turn again, ok?

I think what we are talking here are submitters in general. Any type of submitter is a waste of time and of no benefit for any reason. No one uses url directories anymore (or very few anyway) and I think the link value is almost non existent.

As far as articles go (and Alexa is more experienced than I am) Do it by hand, and you only need one or two directories for posting quality articles

I'm beginning to believe doing it by hand is the best. Someone mentioned only two are needed, Besides Ezine what othe 2 or 3 would be the best?

There aren't 2 or 3 others that I'll use, myself (I used to, but it never helped me). You can try GoArticles, if you want to be in two, for a "belt and braces" approach.

I would agree that directory links are now of less value than before in terms of SEO. But if you still want to try to submit to directories, you can look at Digixmas- this software has a list of directories and I think you can also add yours to the list. This can be automated or semi-automated. Directories links still count as backlinks but most of these links are less of quality. I would suggest you focus more on building and marketing content and build backlinks to high pr and authority sites.
