What's your Best Method for Generating Traffic ?

I don't think there is ONE place that works all the time.

What you need to do is look at your own market and figure out where the majority of your market is already hanging out online. Once you know where they are, go and find ways to get yourself in front of them. This might mean banner ads, forum posting, videos, whatever. It all depends where your specific target market is frequenting.

If you wanted someone to eat your banana you would go and dangle it in front of a gorilla, right?

It's that simple.

I was learned that you done have to generate traffic because the traffic is everywhere. You just need to place yourself in the middle of the traffic. For example, we all know this forum gets a lot of traffic. If you are looking to generate targeted internet marketing traffic you need to set up shop here. This can be done by forum marketing or banner ads on this site.

The traffic already exist. Just figure out a way to get in front of it. Hope this helps...

My best method hands down is paid advertising, PPC in particular. But if there was a sub-category (like favorite FREE traffic method)... it would be blogging.

You make a valid argument, i have been "taken to task" numerous times for the way i reply to certain Threads. I have also been thanked for providing helpful information so some of my replies are appreciated

My replies are not meant to inhibit debate/discussion in any way, although people seem to think otherwise.

I think it's also fair to say that some people just expect to be spoon fed, either because they don't know how to do their own research or because they are just too lazy.
Now again this will most likely offend most people but it's my opinion.

You are correct, forums are places where like minded people gather to share information, even if the same information has been shared 1000 times before people still feel the need to give their spin on things. Some may be helpful, some inaccurate and some complete BS.

If i may though, i don't think certain topics like "Traffic/Marketing Methods" change as often and as much as you think.
The way they are implemented may change but what was shared 6 months ago is generally going to work today.

Anyway, I understand that my Sig may offend some people so i have decided to remove it...

Then I also LOVE to buy solo ads and cpv, I also like direct media buys, and good ole forum posting

If you are tech inclined keeping up with the trends seems to be a great way to get traffic fast. I built 10 Android apps as a proof of concept a couple of months back and they hit 8000 unique visitors per day in two weeks. Not easy to monetize vs the beating my server was getting but a good example of fast traffic.

Facebook was much like this from 2007 onward.

traffic is built up over time. Forum posting gets me a decent amount of traffic, if people respect and like what your saying, they are more likely to click on your signature.

For free marketing, I still love forum marketing.

For paid, hands down, I love pay per click. If you are going to use pay per click just make sure that you only work with the big names of pay per click like Google, Yahoo/Bing. I would not even deal with the smaller ones.

But it´s really depends what is your website is about.

Social media and forum marketing. Well, I also love the traffic I get from Google, when they index and rank my pages randomly with me building little to no links to them.

But yeah, those are the traffic methods I've been doing for a long time now. I am also getting into video marketing. It's a pretty steep learning curve for me, but I'm steadily getting there.
