Promoting with Images?

So I'm going to be creating an infographic for a course I have on Udemy and a few others I have on my site. I know where to go to submit these but I wanted to create "promotional posters" for my stuff as well and wondered how I could get these passed around easily? I know I can post to image hosting sites like imgur but is there a way you'd recommend marketing with images of this kind?

I teach game design for those wondering, so I'd like to have movie style posters for my content. Any advice is greatly appreciated. thanks

    It seems to me that the critical thing is how to get your posters in front of the people you want to see them. Promotion is all about identifying and locating your perfect prospects and then putting your message in front of them so they are compelled to take the action you want. Just getting your work online is not enough.

    I would think buying targeted traffic and sending the prospects to your website would be the fastest and most direct route to putting your offer in front of the right people.

      I understand, but this is just one part of my promotion plan. I want to make "teaser" images that will link back to my site. I really want to make some awesome online images that intrigue people to visit what I have. Not using it as my main way to drive traffic. So what's the best way to promote using images?
