I recently published an ebook on to Amazon that is getting some sales by its self. However, I'm not sure what the best next step would be to promote it. Should I buy a domain and create a promotional squeeze page or possibly blog about it and try and get traffic?

How much more ineffective is blogging on a free word press page compared to buying a domain name and blogging on that?

Any help is appreciated.

Having your own domain name will give you the ownership on it, nobody can suspend you for not following the TOS. In terms of traffic, people had success with both types. But I wouldn`t risk it for $10, if not less..

I would have to dig up the thread, but I know there is a thread here that was begun to help promote FREE eBooks.

A common tactic would be to, at least initially, offer the eBook for free....secure a few glowing reviews....and, then, gradually increase the price. It might not be a bad idea to look into that thread, and offer your eBook for free initially.

I would buy a domain on GoDaddy so that you own the content of your website. You can easily find domain promo codes for GoDaddy for like $1 domains. Hope that helps.

Hi you can build a squeeze page with free offer then sell your ebook as front end product, or you can buy find popular blogs on similar niche then buy ads spot on their blog or ask them to sell you solo ads. You can also drive traffic through ppc or ppv.

    hope that helps

Publishing your book on kindle is the first step.

You NEED to have a marketing strategy in place before you begin anything business related.

Have you read up on some kindle blog? Steve Scott has a lot of great info on his blog.

I'd join the KDP program and make it free for a while and try promote it as much as I can during that free period.

    Try content marketing.

    'Brand' authors do this.

One of my six-figure clients does this consistently.

It's all about building a brand in your niche and related sub-niches.

Warning: it takes time. Don't expect to become a credible brand overnight.

However, if you set up your Kindle book series right, they end up building each other's brand equity which leads to better results for your overall author brand.

  • Recently worked with Planet ebooks and they have 2 Facebook pages with a combined following over over 130,000 in the UK and US. They will promote your ebook to these communities when you have it set to free. The communities are very active. Might be worth a try?

Actually, you can advertise your e-book on amazon.

Done right, each click costs only a few pennies.

    $100 is your minimum.

Exposure can take many forms. Anything that gets eyes on your brand or product is good for business. Many marketers don't know the right way to do this.
