Suprisingly this has been difficult to find, all I want it to do is show a box with name, email fields and store this in my wordpress user list. The ones out there all seem to want me to have an account with aweber or other mass mailing services I'm not ready to send out a newsletter yet so I just want to collect the users until later and I will export the list later Anyone know any simple one? Thanks heaps! |

there is one called faster im optin or something like that. Other than that you should just be able to put the code in the sidebar. Mary Green |

I just installed the suggestion by Stefan Vee and it seems to be just what I'm looking for. I really don't want to email my list with every new blog post but that feature can be disabled. I was unaware of that the first time I checked it out. Thanks so much! Robinana |

| You might be better to export it into an autoresponder right away, as it's formed, because (a) it won't necessarily be easy to find one later which will let you import the list without them re-opting-in, and (b) once people have opted in, you need to contact them and keep in touch with them immediately, otherwise their responsiveness will decline like you wouldn't believe and some/half/most/all of them won't even remember who you are and may not even open an email from you to give you the chance to remind them. |

For what you're talking about, I would just use a simple contact form. The only thing about storing up email addresses is, a lot of people will probably forget they gave you their address, and when you send them something a few months down the road, a lot will instantly unsubscribe. It's usually best to follow up instantly and deliver something of value in exchange for their email.
