Optimizing My Blog...HELP!

INTERNET MARKETING

Hi I've just created a Wordpress blog for my articles and random thoughts pertaining to my business.

I want to optimize the blog for Google so that it recognizes my backlinks and keywords and ultimately lists my main website higher.

What do I need to do in order to best optimize my blog? Which widgets will I need? Are there any settings I will need to activate or deactivate?

Wordpress has a lot going on, so I figured I'd ask for some help!

You should install the All-in-one SEO Pack to help you along.

Also, set your permalink structure to be something like:

/%postname%/

or

/%postname%.html

Those 2 things alone will make a big difference. There are lots more things you can and should do, but those are quick hitters that you should definitely do right away.

  I completely agree with entrepenerd.. You might want to find some other plugins that might help. Something like
  
  SEO Tittle Tag, Feedburner, Bookmark Me, Google Sitemap, Seo Friendly Page, and Google Positioner...

  make your category and tag directories as /c and /t
  
  Try and use the "more" feature and disable the calendar and tags at the beginning
