Best Non-Wordpress Membership Script / Software

Hi all,

I'm building out a non-wordpress membership site and was wondering if anyone has had any experiences with a non-wordpress membership software.

The only legitimate one I've come across has been amember...

Any suggestions and experiences would be appreciated.

Is it basically that people pay to become a member and then they can access additional content? What other important features are needed? Pretty sure we could do this easily with phpLD.

It is okay to contact me! I have been developing software since 1999, creating many popular products like phpLD.

Yes, Digital Access Pass will also work in plain HTML sites and DAP is a killer application if a bit pricey.

Depends on what you mean by "non-wordpress". Drupal can do it with permissions and Ubercart, and I think Joomla can do it with virtuamart but other then that it is all i know.

    Hi Yerrato,

Check out DAP - it can protect plain HTML sites.

I use optimizepress, which has built-in membership functionality.

Check out fellow warrior member Kim Standerline, her Easy Member Pro software is really good. Not an affiliate link.

I've used Joomla with the AEC plug-in to build membership sites in the past. It used to be free, but now you have to pay for it .

      Yerrato,

There are dozens and dozens of options depending upon what features you want/need and what your budget will allow.

If you want the very best, a serious, professional, everything included solution, I would recommend Membergate.

It's certainly overkill if you just want a simple locked member area; but if you want an all-in-one solution, IMO, there is nothing better.

Not an affiliate here. I have searched far and wide for the best solution for a membership site and this is what I recommend. Certainly it's not the cheapest solution, but if you are committed to doing a membership site the monthly fee is nothing compared to what you'll earn. Just 10 members a month will pay for Membergate . . . you'll be up and running fast, there are no add-ons needed, the admin is quite intuitive and the support is top notch.

      The very best to you.

seems like this is a really popular topic, having been looking for which one to go for myself as one of my niches grows... I don't want to spend time and energy going for the wrong one! I have been tempted by Kajabi but it's 199 a month. However, all the tech stuff is taken care of so I guess that's what you're paying for.
Is there a review/comparison site worth checking out?
