Adding to mailing list after payment, how?

Basically I want my users/visitors to be automatically put on a buyer mailing list (i'm selling an e-course), so that when he or she pays they immediately get the first mail without me having to add them manually in aweber.

How can I do this?

    Well adding them manually wont work anyways cause then they would have to double optin and more than likely would not.

    What you need to do cause I haven't used aweber in a while is search there site for integrating paypal with aweber.

    Also another means is to use jvzoo or w+ as your affiliate network which will also add them.

    Also what you can do is call Aweber directly. They have a great support line.

      On your aweber screen up top is an APPS tab. Click that and one of them is Paypal. Click that and then follow your nose. Dead simple.

      The only thing wrong that I've found, is that if your list is single/unconfirmed opt-in as it probably will be after a purchase, the integration with AWeber seems to upset the apple-cart a bit, and they will still get a confirmation email. This is not good, as you haven't told them to go and check their email.

      After trialling this method, which has it's benefits because the addition to a list is seamless (= good user experience), I decided to set up the Paypal return url (step 3 of the button set up routine) to a registration page and get their details like that.

      That way, they don't get the unnecessary confirmation email and I still get them on my list.

      The APP should work better than this imo, - but it doesn't. At least not yet.

        Short answer is: You can't.

        Even with your customers, as long as you are using an API, Aweber will send out a confirmation email and have them click the conf. link before you can send them any emails.

        I suggest you let your customers know in one way or another that they need to confirm that email so they can get product updates and mailings from you, otherwise your confirmation rate will most likely be below 50%.

        Some marketers FORCE an opt-in on their thank you pages, but I highly suggest against this. I don't think its fair to force people who just purchased from you onto your list. It should be their decision.

          Not so, Whenever someone buys from me on jvzoo or w+ or I buy from someone its an automatic add.

          I never received a confirm link that I can remember.

    Hi,

    Yeah I have to agree with the smoke guy.

    I always manage to add my buyers automatically to my list so that they
    can get their download links etc once they've purchased from me.

    Warrior + has been great and very reliable for doing this with no hassle
    and completely hands free.

    You simply select the campaign you want your buyers to be added to once
    they have bought from you.

    Very simple.

    Great time saver.

      Hmmm.. great information guys. I am going to have to look into this. Are you guys using adaptive payments?

      I got off the phone with Aweber customer support about 3 weeks ago and they told me that any time I am adding to a list via API they HAD to send out a confirmation email.

      Maybe they are not adding automatically because I am using some advanced features, like IPN forwarding....
