Article promotion tips

Recently I started publishing my original articles on my website only with no promotion elsewhere... no bookmarks, no EZA, nada.

I just published my last article over the weekend: "Lower Blood Pressure Without Drugs". Today it's #15 on Google (may vary according to your location) for "lower blood pressure without drugs" (without quotes). This phrase shows 10 million searches in Googles search tool.

I'm totally amazed. But I need first page results so now I'll start backlinking it with a variety of blog posts, bookmarks and publishing. I'm sure I can get it on Page 1 in a couple more days.

This method seems to offer the best of all possibilities.

As long as you target good keyword(s) etc. and provide quality content, and get more backlinks than your comp, there's no good reason you can't get on the first page for most any keyword you desire.

You're on the right path, but...

Have you thought about building your own blog, putting your content over there and building backlinks for it? Not saying that article marketing is bad or anything, but articles are your property, so keep them with yourself first. Then, spin and send them to other sites.

      To add to Gambbit's advice:

If the content you promote to other sites is the same as the one you are doing on your blog, why would anyone comeback to check on your website if they can find it elsewhere? Maybe I am wrong.

In my experience I have created shadow author based quality articles with backlinks to my site and then use extra great quality content for my own blog and reviews.

      Hope this helps

I post totally different articles on the article sites then I post on my blog. Then I write to read more articles like this visit (my site). Is that the correct way to use articles?

What I usually do is write an article for my blog, like a list post, then take one item on that list and write a detailed article about it. That's the one I submit to EZA. I link to my home page and the last post URL in the author bio box so that when people click, they see related but not duplicate content. Those people then subscribe to my newsletter and/or click around my site instead of just leaving (which is what they would do if they saw the same article). That's the only method of promotion for one of my websites and I'm #1 in Google for my main keyword with 32 million results.

Backlinks are external links to your site from other websites. You can sign up or log in to Google Webmaster Central to find out how many you have. Or how many they allow you to think you have anyway.
