Is there a difference between a lead and a subscriber or are they one in the same? The way I see it, a subscriber is someone that subscribes to your blog, youtube channel etc. A lead is someone who has qualified themselves as a possible buyer. Your thoughts?

You may differentiate them that way but as long as you can send promotions to them, they are leads in my opinion. If you noticed when you signup to promote some product, the next page URL usually have something like lead...

And the guys that asked you to promote their product WILL send you promotions eventhough you signed up just to promote the product.

I personally would call a subscriber a buyer and a lead a potential buyer.

A subscriber is a person that opted in to your newsletter.

A lead on the other hand can be anything, for example a phone number or a physical adress.

I would call a subscriber a follower / higher chance of ongoing puchases.

And a Lead for potential buyer, but chances to ignore.

I'll take subscribers over leads all day long.

Leads are just that... Potential clients that showed some interest in what you're offering. Maybe they'll buy and maybe they won't.

A subscriber already opted-in to what you're offering. They have serious interest and they took down their "I don't wanna be sold" barrier.

A lead is a potential buyer. Someone who may be interested in what you want but has not purchased anything.

Once a lead actually buys something, they become a buyer or customer, not a lead.

If the subscriber bought something to become a subscriber then they are a buyer.

If the subscriber did not buy something to become a subscriber then they are still just a lead.

They are both the same for me.

As soon as they join your list, they become a subscriber/lead.
