CAN-SPAM rules question

I have read thru the rules and I understand that even legit business to business email has to have all that stuff in place to be compliant but my question is this:

Obviously if you are sending out mass emails that are not compliant you will get in trouble but will you be subject to a $16,000 fine (what they say in the rules) if only 1 person reports you?

Or is most likely nothing will happen if you get reported a few times but if they get 50 complaints or 100 or 500 then something happens?

I am only looking to send a few dozen emails a day to targeted businesses that could benefit from what I am offering and won't have all the compliant rules in place. Would this be a problem? I doubt anyone would report me its not like spam email about some unrelated crap. But if 2 or 3 people report it then would I be in trouble?

it would have to be more than just a report. be sure to keep your contact info accurate. that is in the rulings too.

it probably says up to $16k and somewhere there may be another set of limitations outlined that could equal that amount.

if you use a third party email service, you should be safe they take care of unsubscribe, etc. as long as you don't try to circumvent the rules.

as long as they opt-in themselves to the emails

If you;re scraping the email address' and sending them that way, that's spam. your last paragraph sounded like that's your plan/

I have an idea what scraping is but haven't looked into it. Just getting emails from their websites and sending each one individual and no not thru opt in this would be 1st time contact and most likely the only contact, either they look into it or not. I would not send repeat emails.

Like I said these are targeted and not offensive or spammy either they look at it or don't and that is it. So if I somehow got reported a couple times it wouldn't be a big deal and maybe I would get warning email from can spam or something?

not positve. But I think if you're just doing once to the email you got on their site its not illegal, as long as you give them a way to opt out in that same email, and never send to them again.
