It depends on the theme of the site and demand for advertising in that niche.

It is okay to contact me! I have been developing software since 1999, creating many popular products like phpLD.

I wouldn't have the slightest clue. Try checking around other sites within your niche and see what they charge. Or start with whatever you think is a good price. If noone buys any ads, lower the price. If demand is high, increase the price.

You might be better off selling text links, especially if the site has PR.

By the way, what is the site?
Maybe we could help you better that way.

It depends completely on the traffic. 10,000 what? Random surfers or 10,000 coin collectors? Gardeners? Restaurant Owners?

10,000 random surfers aren't worth much. If you're talking per month, I'd test at about $10/Month ($1CPM) if I had a general interest product.

visitors are well targeted to the niche. I have spyfu`ed potential clients who pay £100 - £500 day on adwords. I was thinking of around £150 per month as its substantialy discounted to google. $10 seems cheap!

I would start at $200 (US) a month for 125x125 ads (6-8 of them) and then go from there. If there is more demand than spots available then raise the price. Try and secure long term (6-12 months) contracts for a reduced price...

Just a though but this could change depending on what niche you are in...
