Create Affiliate Network for Physical Products?
I represent a company who has been creating and selling their own skin care products and then selling them in mall kiosks and trade shows throughout the US.
From time to time they have also collected names, phone numbers and emails and then do follow up. They have a list of about 35000 people who they have sold to. With this list, they have a phone team that calls and re-sells them the products.
Without any PPC or CPA campaign, with no attempt to market the site through any means whatsoever, they still get about 3000 USD a week in sales through the net. NB: This puts them below the minimum requirements for CJ.
They sell about $200,000 a month of the products through their kiosks and trade shows but in this area they are operating on a very slim margin; they are making about 10% over costs of product and operation.
I have been considering putting their products into another affiliate management company other than CJ. Does anyone know of any other good affiliate company who does this yet without as high an initial hurdle?
Their main product retails at all the kiosks and tradeshows at $39.95 for a month supply. The tradeshow and kiosks are important to the company in that this is how the company was initially formed and is the greatest pecentage of their customer base. The company does not want to have a hundred online retailers offering the products at lower prices than the kiosk/tradeshow guys do or than what is offered by their phone room or via their site.
I would love to have ideas or hear from others who have been successful. I have good ideas on how to better service their current clients (a club, continuity programs, upsells, downsells, skin care webinars and cross promotions with other non-competitive companies, etc.,) but simply want to get more people promoting the products as affiliates.
I thought that it might be better to do it in the way that it seems so many in the IM world do with their properties. Launch it in liaison with affiliates who are managed by the product creator himself; not through an affiliate host such as CJ.
I'd love to hear of successes either way. Of course; if you have a list for such products, I would love to hear from you.
