Question about downloading products

Hey all

I have a few questions regarding an online site that im currently making. The site will be selling downloadable ebooks in a hidden niche which I wont reveal sorry. Anyhow the site will probably be using a shopping cart so - I wanted some advice and needed some questions answered:

1) How do you protect your downloads? - Do you encrypt the URL or what? How do I go about doing this?

2) How do you protect your thank you page link on clickbank?

3) If you use PayPal shopping cart - will they be able to download all your ebooks at once? I heard from paypal that they dont do downloadable products but I thought I should ask this anyway.

Thanks

If you are selling ebooks in a store format you have several options and most modern carts protect the downloads with encrypted, timed links that expire after a period of time. For example I use X-Cart for most of my stuff but that may be overpowered (handles 100-100,000s products) but there are many other carts that may be cheaper and provide similar functions (OSCommerce, Zen Cart, Joomla / VirtueMart)

If on the other hand you are just selling a few products through Clickbank use DLGuard which is the defacto standard for protecting your download links.

    Hope that helps

As a side note, DLGuard has it's own built-in shopping cart system as well, so it sounds like it may fit your needs quite well!

I have a lot of clients who sell ebooks and MP3's espeically using the DLGuard Cart system.

If you have any questions about it, please let me know!

    cheers
