Newbie with a website. need help

Hi every one,
I'm new here on Warrior Forum. I am a newbie marketer also but I have spent like a year reading about internet marketing. Well I didn't come here to talk about my experience on internet marketing, what I came here to do is to learn more and I need a bit help.

The problem is that I have this domain "fear the Viking . com " I have had this domain for little over a year or so. I never knew what to use it for until my friend came up with the idea to use it for bodybuilding and strongman related site, I thought it was a good idea and started to work on it but after sometime I lost the focus and just didn't know where to take this thing, how to use it to make me money I just got lost. I have been brainstorming a lot but somehow I just can't find the focus point.

I am getting traffic to the site, about 20 to 60 unique visitors a day.
Is there anyone willing to review my website and like give me points on where to take this site?
Maybe I should try to give something away to get opt in.

Any idea, any comment are appreciated

Thanks

Looks like you have chosen the Adsense model to monitize your site.

    - Have you signed up for Adsense?

    - You could use at least one more Adsense block on each page, at least in the middle of the copy, perhaps near the youtube videos.

    - What are you doing to generate visitors to your offer??

    - Did you at least ping every blog post you wrote?

    - Did you purchase a Course regarding Adsense or are you doing this alone?

      Hi,

      Yes i have adsense account

I will look into having Adsense on each page and try to have it close to the youtube video. thanks for that advice.

I don't have any special offer on the site and that is the problem, i have a link on the site for bodybuilding ebooks and there i just have like a BIO on the author of that ebook and then an affiliate link, should i have a review instead?

Yes i ping every post i write.

I have not taken any adsense course, I'm just doing this one my own.

one more thing, the website is about bodybuilding and i know nothing about bodybuilding

  • Adsense is how I started at first and it works out pretty well. It's a good way to get into IM.

BYou could make money through your site by having banners for weight loss CPA offers. There's also a lot of Clickbank products about bodybuilding that you can promote.

Also, I wouldn't hide that ebook offer somewhere in a post. Since at this moment that's the only offer you have - put it in your sidebar. Just an idea...

You can promote mostly anything with a blog with targeted posts and categories. Definitely, fitness blogs would work.

One thing you could do to increase your adsense revenue is put some URL links into your posts. saooner or later people will click on them and put affiliate offers inside them. That will help a tiny bit.

I tried so hard to write a post with no spelling mistakes and then when I looked at it , there was still one mistake. I am trying to improve, really I am...

It looks nice but try to add a more attractive template. This will make it look like it was design by a professional

Hi, I'll love to help a you out with my opinions on your site. Actually do some of the stuff we are advising you here, since it will bring quicker success to your IM career.

Right now you are working with a blog. So, you should use it as a blog and say its blog, no "Bodybuilding and Fitness Place" but Bodybuilding and Fitness Blog... its obviously a blog for you and me and most people here, but trust me and write it there. Also, fill your blogroll with the strongest blogs on your niche (and some minor players).

Yes, its better if you have reviews. Create a new page on your wp after the About, called Reviews. Send your Privacy to the footer. On your Reviews page you would link to all your posts reviewing products (amazon books, clickbank products, and maybe even some expensive gym equipment with good commissions), with the product name, pic, a brief description, and some kind of "go to the review" link. The reviews themselves are blog posts.

With some time you are going to get some best sellers, so put those directly linked from your side bar. Links like "xzy training program review" "xzy vitamins review", under a Best Products title or something like that, under your current adsence block.

Monetize from many sources from the start. Look for plenty of affiliate products to promote, and research them for your reviews.

Do get a good adsence course.

    Even before reading this:
"one more thing, the website is about bodybuilding and i know nothing about bodybuilding "
I was going to suggest you a "building online community's with drupal and wordpress" (or something like that) book, so you can make the transition from a blog towards an online community. User generated content will be your salvation. You still need to start learning a decent bit about bodybuilding.

I think building a community is probably the best way you can have a really big succes with your domain (wich I think its a really great name for a community of bodybuilders but not that good for a blog about bodybuilding).

Honor your domain and go conquer your niche hahaha

Host a contest for bodybuilding or something.

People love seeing themselves on the internet.

Have people send over their bodybuilding pictures
and put the biggest person or whatever the contest
is on the homepage or give them a free e-book!

Once one persons picture is on your site, they will
promote the site for you to all of their friends / family,
which will lead to more submissions which will lead to more
      traffic ... rinse and repeat!

I love this traffic generation module!

Get a building online community's book. Then you would probably put your opt in on every page on the side bar. Wen you end with the transition, the fact that it is a community should be clear all over the place, with entrys from some users on the home, pics box, etc.

That's why I recommend you get a good book, like building online community's with drupal and wordpress, since its soemwhat a big step, and you will need the guidance to make that trancition properly.
