If You Are Struggling, Consider This...

Hello Warriors:

I know many of you are struggling with Internet marketing and some are struggling in their personal life as well.

I came across these quotes from Marcus Aurelius and thought I would share them with my fellow warriors in order to help you change your paradigm.

"Our life is what our thoughts make it"

My translation - What you believe is what you will achieve. Whatever you think, you're right. Basically, your mind is all powerful. Your beliefs will determine your outcomes. If you think you are x type of person, your mind will work subconsciously to ensure that you fulfill your beliefs.

So... get in the proper mindset, fix your life, and achieve your goals.

"Reject your sense of injury and the injury itself disappears"

My translation - This also goes to mindset. Do not let mistakes or failures stop you from achieving your goals. You are going to fail. That's a fact of life. Understand that you are going to make mistakes and encounter obstacles. Get passed it and move forward.

Turn mistakes and failures into "learning experiences". My first ever attempt to make money resulted in a net loss of about $350 dollars. My wife said that was a waste of money. My reply was "are you kidding? That was a $350 lesson on what not to do." I'm still at it today some 25 years later.

So... get in the proper mindset, fix your life, and achieve your goals.

I leave you with this final quote:

"Such as are your habitual thoughts, such also will be the character of your mind; for the soul is dyed by the thoughts"

Your translation - < goes here >

To your success,

John

"Your life is what your thoughts make it
"

ps - Get in the proper mindset, fix your life, and achieve your goals.

I agree, mindset is critical. Without IT, you won't get very far no matter what you do.

    Sweet post, John.

I agree completely. Myself, I suffer from bouts of inferiority and lack of confidence from time to time, as per typical humans.

The thing is, it takes a very determined and mentally strong person to withstand setbacks after setbacks, failures after failures, and obstacles after obstacles to achieving his or her goals.

I believe that even though almost everyone knows that your mindset is very crucial, maintaining that mindset is another story.

It's like fitness and nutrition. Important to exercise and eat right for a healthy body, everyone knows that - but how many keeps at it?

Yes - so true. The key to keeping on track is to make the things that lead toward your goals and success a habit. Stay focused by using a daily task list.

Here's another of my favorite and often recited quotes:

"You can eat an elephant if you do it a bite at a time" - Zig Ziglar

That is actually very good solution to a rather straightforward but not necessarily easy problem!

I noticed that when I write down (yes write, not type!), I have a much, MUCH higher rate of accomplishing them. It's really quite amazing.

What's even more amazing is that I remembered a scientific study done by some researchers that our brain make some form of connection when we write that sorta makes us more efficient, so to speak.

That's why, I'm forcing myself to use my diary/some task book all the time now even though I can type it down.

"List Management" is what works for me. I'm not talking about email lists, I am talking "task list".

I use a "high tech" solution - a small spiral bound 6x9 notebook.

Here's a FREE online tool for uber-techies who can't use pen and paper: Best todo list and task manager

          Regards,

That is so true. Writing it down is critical. I also like to break my goals down into tasks - daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly. I think it helps!

Sorry for the confusion - just using color for emphasis.

The dark blue text is not underlined and not hyperlinked.

Also, there is no WSO for sale...

I can not agree more. It is very true, what we have in mind is what we see in reality.

Therefore, if we want to make a good reality, just think about good things.

    Stay happy, mates..

We cannot Have, Be, or Acquire, that which we were not aware of Being. Increasing our awareness levels (ie. Belief) will increase our want, which will turn into a passion, which turns into an obsession, which sooner or later will turn into COMBUSTION.. and success is right around the corner.

I fully agree, if you really want something bad enough, keeping a positive mindset and really believing that you can do it will get you there eventually... with lots of hard work and persevernce on the side of course

Well, it has some flaws. I'm sure that if you had a trip to Africa and tried to present this idea to a local native from Chad, it wouldn't help him much thinking about "food&water, food&water, food&water".

But, if we stay related to the happier 3 billions, you've got a point.

Thanks for the ideas and inspiration. This forum is going to make successes of all of us as long as we keep moving forward. I like to print out a weekly calendar and write down my 'tasks' for the day and then check them off or keep track of my progress. High tech also--HA Blessings to all.

My favorite quote from the late Jim Rohn:

"if you want things to change for you; you have to change"

      It most often ends there!

Most people don't pass "Go" - they are what we refer to as the 95% who fail.

    Really great post.

I totally agree too. Your mindset is everything.

I've bee living in Japan for a couple years and during this time I've learned a lot about HOW your mindset can effect everything else in life.

I just wrote a free e-book based on conversations with an A-bomb survivor related specifically to the question you posed: How to overcome your struggles to achieve what you want.

Very great observation, and good post.

    Peace,

As Internet Marketers, we spend the majority of our time sitting in front of a computer... of course we up all have VA's / outsourcers / freelancers that we work with... many of us have clients that we work with...

But for many of us, our days are spent physically alone... it's no wonder why it can be difficult at times to maintain that oh so important positive attitude.

If I were to add up something of value to this thread, it would be this: if you are struggling (to any degree) with trying to keep your spirits up, you're not alone. In fact, I'm going to go as far as to propose that many Internet marketers struggle with staying focused, staying positive, defining success -- and knowing how to correctly identify when they are succeeding... so they can reward themselves.

Maintaining a positive mental attitude is critical to our success. and one of the best ways that we can maintain our positive mental attitude is by giving ourselves praise when praise is due, and regularly giving ourselves much-needed & well-deserved breaks from our daily grind.

Very good points that you make.

Maintaining focus and balance are very challenging for most, but even more so for Internet marketers due to the volume of information at our finger tips. It's very easy to stray from our mission.

      That is why I:
      • have a list of goals
      • post pictures of the rewards in my office
      • have a daily routine (with scheduled breaks)
      • have a daily task list
      • exercise daily
      • maintain balance by scheduling time for family and friends
All of those things help me stay positive and focused.

      Regards,

      John

Struggle is the teacher of success.
Failure in the moment is the teacher of Success in the end.
One of my favorite movies was the original "Karate Kid": Everything, literally everything, goes badly. And BECAUSE everything went so badly, in the end he won. He won with the skills and lessons he had learned by facing disappointing immediate results.
