What's your morning ritual?

I've been running an online business for 5 years roughly and I've gone through periods of massive productivity and other periods with...well let's just say reduced productivity.

A common theme for the most productive times I have is that I have a solid morning ritual where I get up early and get things done early.

Recently I took this to a new level though after reading The Miracle Morning by Hal ElrodThe Miracle Morning by Hal Elrod
My ritual now involves:

1. Get up at 6.30am
2. Get ready to work (shower etc)
3. Meditate for 10 minutes
4. Visualise my goals and dreams for 5 minutes
5. Exercise and stretch for 10 minutes
6. Read some kind of personal development 20 minutes

Then I eat some breakfast and explode into what ever tasks I've got planned out for the day and my productivity, focus and enjoyment at work is through the roof.

If you have a specific morning ritual please share.

If you don't and feel there is a better way, please share

That book is next on my reading list.

Your routine seems pretty solid! I'm pretty much doing the same.

    0. In bed by 10:30PM.
    1. Wake up at 4AM.
    2. Mindful meditation. (10 mins)
    3. Power nap until 5AM. (~30 mins)
    4. Breakfast - prepared the night before. (10-15 mins)
    5. Meditation (either mindful or zen method). (15-30 mins)
    6. Yoga. (10-15 mins)
    7. Brain Training. (~10 mins)
    8. Read if time available. (15 mins)
    9. Shower and ready for work.

I've been working on my morning for about 2 months now, and have slowly introduced new activities. I take a power nap after a meditation session to get rid of the extra grogginess that I feel in the mornings. I used to start at #3, but then I woke up early one day, meditated, and went back to bed. I felt great at 5AM when my alarm went off, so I just kept doing it.

Once the weather improves, I'll be doing a run, as well.

I normally start my day like this:

    1. Wake-up aound 7:00 A.M. - 9:00 A.M. (depending upon what time I went to sleep the night before)
    2. Pray
    3. Write goals
    4. Read for 15 minutes
    5. Start taking action on my list of tasks to be done (2-4 hours)
    6. Exercise for 30 mins to an hour
    7. Take a shower
    8. Complete the rest of my tasks (2-4 hours)
    9. Enjoy the rest of the day doing whatever I want

    Hi,

I wake up - usually early, but whenever - meditate for 30 minutes, do subliminal hypnotherapy for 30 minutes, exercise, walk the dogs, then, stretch, then I dive into my work for the day.

Using this approach I publish 1 eBook weekly and also one, 6,000 word blog post, in addition to my client articles, my networking and all that other good stuff. That Power Hour changed my life because doing the inner work, and exercising, opened me up to a whole new reality. My energy went through the roof. I was instantly charged up, ready to attack the day in vicious fashion. All because I raised my vibe through personal development, on waking.

I wish to add some shocking mechanism; no not that type of shocking lol....but like, diving into an icy cold shower or stream. I've been reading Tony Robbins and many other successes do this and when I was in NJ before I came here to Bali we had some seriously cold days, where I'd go for a walk in a light shirt for a few minutes, and DARN, was I instantly shocked into a higher energetic state. I'd add that if you really, really stick to this cold spell/shocking approach you will literally be stunned at how quickly your life changes through your inspired actions. Doing darn well so far but striving to find an ice cold water source here during high - or low even - season, as things are super duper hot and this carries over even in to showers and the like.

Keep up the great work guys!

      Wow, great post.

I love the productivity levels you're able to keep to, that's impressive and I wholeheartedly agree that your morning ritual helps a lot with that.

I think so many people struggling on here to make anything work would benefit immediately from just waking up early and sorting out their morning routine.

It has a knock on effect on everything.

Not sure if I'm ready for the ice shower yet though Ryan, lol.

I just recently started waking up earlier and doing some work before beginning my usual getting ready routine and I must say I really enjoy it.

Morning person here. Usually blogging by 5AM, well before I shower.

    Then it's the day job.

Then more blogging. Sometimes some coding.

I meditate while I'm going to sleep.

Unfortunately, my morning ritual often happens closer to noon than the times some of you have posted. 5am and meditation, omg, I don't think I'll ever get to that level of perfection.

But to my defense, I'm a night owl and have done some of my best work between 10pm and 4am. I also sometimes work with customers in the US, while I'm based in the UK.

I've had periods when I was getting up at 7am and going to bed by 10pm, but it seems to change in cycles. I like running and I've observed that the more/harder I run, the earlier I tend to go to bed and the earlier I get up.
