Fail forward that is.

Sometimes we're too afraid to fail because of the feedback we'll get from our peers or even complete strangers. We're afraid that it just won't work for us and they just got lucky.

STOP.

You NEED to fail because that's how you'll learn. If you have a bunch of success and very minimal failures you won't last because the failures you face will steer you away from taking risks.

I believe not failing at all is far more worse than failing BACKWARDS. Why? Because if you're avoiding failure so that every project, speaking engagement, social media posts, are all perfect you'll never release it or if you do, you would have wasted all that time from not making money or building brand awareness.

It took me FOREVER to start making money because all of my social media projects just HAD to be perfect. DO NOT be a perfectionist. Tweak as you go. You need feedback, negative feedback is still good feedback (to a certain extent).

I went broke and literally living in my car working at dunkin donuts because I was scared of releasing my projects to the world. Bills started piling up and my mom ended kicking me out because I wasn't paying them on time. One day I woke up to my sunroof being open and raining dripping on me. I thought how did I end up here? Why is this happening to me? Oh yeah that's right, I was afraid to launch my business.

Now I'm doing 4 figure days after pursuing failure!

Don't be afraid of it. You need it. It's healthy for you trust me!

Weldon dude for this post. Your title caught me and you made real sense but I have a question.
Why does most of the stories of successful internet marketers sound similar? Like: they started succeeding when they were sleeping under the garage or something like that... You get my point I guess?

what most of these under 30 guys went straight from mom and dad's basement to living in mansions driving lambos ..because of the magical 39$ system they are trying to sell you .

and trust me the life path or crap that happens before you end up living in your car or on a friend's couch or sleeping in drainage tunnels(cough cough) trying to to get eaten by coyotes ..

That time in the car is cleansing time where you learn to look in the mirror and say i can bitch about all the stuff the went wrong and got me here ..then you learn to stop that.. then you look at what you had before and all the effort you put in to what amounted to so little ...once you learn where you can shower get food ...use the bathroom .. earn enough money to survive when needed ..

Then you get that very short list of who really cares about you or who is there to help you ..

When you end up homeless and during or after you tell people you where homeless.. very very very few people will want to know what happened before to make you homeless ..and once homeless a large number of people will just expect the worse for your future ..

So you learn the hard way to stop crying about your past and stop giving a f#$% what most people think of you .

once you have been homeless ..you also lose that fear of being homeless ..I might have to further explain that later ..

Yeah I get what you're saying, but it's really a turning point for most people.

      It just.... is.

Idk why. I'm one of those people that needed a really down moment that pushes me to start doing something. And I'm also one of those people that thinks if someone else is doing something I want to do, then I know I can do it if they are.

But yeah I guess everyone has to learn the hard way.

i don't know if you understood my losing the fear of being homeless comment..but you can probably back up what i mean.. when you go through it and it ends up not being the end.. meaning you don't end up eating out of a trash can sitting on a corner begging for change so you can buy enough booze to pass out drunk that night ..which hollywood or the media paints as what people do when they end up homeless ..

then the other part which only a business minded person would get when you have to go in a government office and beg for assistance and prove your destitution and get maybe a few hundred a month help to buy food ..when that sits there in the back of your mind ..and after you build your business and learn to legally write off large sums of money ..with no groveling involved .

I mean when all the financial costs/personal investments involved in failing forward can get written off in a business

Totally agree, it's those rough times that give you the know how for future rough times. Without failing and learning from those failures, you really don't acquire any value. Failing forward makes you more valuable

Fear of failure and fear of starting may be the 2 biggest things that keep people from being successful. You need to believe in yourself.

Great post allgoodthingswillcome! Trying is always worthwhile because like you said: "that's how you'll learn."
