Change the world

I just built a site, well, it's still in the process but we have about 50 pages up so far. It's almost 100% informational. ( my book is for sale on the left toolbar )

It's pretty cool too, people are actually spreading it around on facebook, etc. I'm getting about 100 uniques and it's only been live for under a week.

The reason I put the site up in the first place is because when we wrote the book, everyone would ask "how can we make a difference?" So we categorized the sections into things you can do in under 1 min, 5 min, 10 min, under $1, $5, etc.

The reason I'm posting this here is, First, I think you guys will enjoy it. It's very positive.

2nd, if anyone would like to contribute, I'll post your name and hyperlink it to your site.

Things I'm looking for:

#1 ideas on how to change the world for the better.

#2 Good news, fundraisers, grass roots charities ( or big ) , anything good going on in the world to put people in touch with. You can have an affiliation with it, or not. Doesn't matter to me.

Also, I know you guys have a ton of ideas that can make a difference in the world.

I just got an email this morning from someone that said " That's a great idea, just waving at someone that let you into traffic. I never realized it, but it makes a difference"

    Great post Bryan. Have you seen the heros award show on TV a few weeks ago. The biggest hero was of a poor man in the Phillipeans pushing a cart full of old used education books, pushing his cart town to town to teach the kids that never had chance to go to school. Now we meed more people like that.

      No, I haven't seen that. That is VERY COOL. Its things like that, in my opinion that make a difference. Of course, all of the fundraisers, money, etc are great, but Real people doing Real Things are what make it happen.

      Hi,
      Great site ! I have a friend that's a missionary in Honduras you would probably want to feature on your site. His name is Billy Peters and so far he's built about a dozen schools and clinics down there. He's also fed all the kids in his village twice a week for years. He's affiliated with a church in Florida and a couple of civic groups and twice a year has a group of doctors and a building team that come down.
      I've been trying to come up with a way to help his ministry financially. He has people who support his efforts but has always had to come back to the states usually twice a year to make enough money to keep going. Now he's got the paperwork to be able to stay down there permanently and if I built him a website or had some other way for him to make a living down there he wouldn't have the expense of having to come back here and could focus on his ministry.

      Anyway that's where we're at.I'll get to work building a site for him now for you guys to link to.

        Thanks! I just emailed you. This kind of thing is awesome! Definitely the kind of thing I want to promote on there. Also, you would be suprised how many people really do want to help out, they just don't know how. Everyone always ask's me " How can I make a difference/help out?" These are the kinds of things they are looking for.

          Hi Bryan,
          Got your email and we can probably have the site ready in a day or two.

          I used to crew on a missionary supply ship based out of the keys so I actually know a lot of people like Billy that you could feature on your site.

          Our friends Larry and Francie Millard are on their boat working their way towards Haiti now. He's an old one legged warrior of another type that's been serving God and helping people for about 35 years.

          And there's also the Halls on Cat Island in the Bahamas. They had 7 kids of their own and took on 28 more (at last count) that were orphans most of whose parents had died of Aids.

          So I guess we'll be regular contributors

          Maybe this is the niche we're supposed to do. Building websites for missionaries.

    The best hero's are the ones who dont ask for anything in return, not even a simple thank you, because they do the things they do because it makes them feel better for making a change. Now if only we can get a president who thinks that way haha.
