I almost died yesterday

I'm lucky to be alive. I just wanted to share this with you guys because I know sometimes we take life for granted. I had a allergic reaction yesterday and was very near death. I couldn't breath, my body went numb and I was never so scared. I had no control of my body and how it was reacting. I was rushed to the ER and they ran all sorts of tests on me. The EKG showed my heart had experienced trauma and if I got to the hospital any later I may not be typing this right now. I'm so thankful to be breathing today. Please be thankful for your health and take time each day to let those you love, know you love them. I'm a healthy 28 yr old male with no prior health or allergy issues, so as you can imagine I now have a new look on just how fragile this thing we call life actually is. Nothing is forever and I accept that, but to be that close to death, has changed my outlook on a lot of things.

Remember friends do not sweat the small stuff. Enjoy each and everyday. Watch the sunset or the sunrise, watch your friends and family smile, enjoy every moment you have and always look on the bright side of things.

Thank you for reading

-Nate

Wow! I'm glad you made it Nate! And thank you for thinking about your buddies here and
sharing your story ... you've got to share it with everyone ... I'm always amazed at how
casually we treat the gift of life.

We usually only get serious about it all when we lose someone we love but you were so close to losing it all yourself and lived to talk about it Nate ... that is a great gift!

        Take care of yourself,

        Fran

    Hi Nate,

You had a close call, thank god you are alive. I am a stranger to you, but from personal life experience i know what you might have felt.

There are turning points in ones life. We all experience it. It took me 35 years on earth to realize the fragility of our lives. There really is no point in taking life too seriously. It is the relationships with our loved ones that makes life truly worth living.

    May god bless you all.

Thank you for sharing that with us. We are all glad that you were able to share considering the circumstances. It's nice to hear that sort of thing considering how all of us can get so caught up in our lives that we miss out on the wonderful daily things you mentioned, like sunrises and sunsets. The little things are very important. Thanks again for sharing and God bless.

I appreciate the kind words my friends! I thought I would share this story because sometimes I feel we lose sight of the things that really matter. For those of you that are wondering I was in what they call anaphylactic shock. It was caused by an insect bite (spider).

Wow. Did you feel strange when you've been bitten by the spider? Like a sticky feeling in your hands? It's a sign.

Seriously though, I'm glad that you've made it.

Thank you Nate for sharing this. How sad it is mate that for most of us (probably including yourself) it takes this kind of event to actually see the real value of what we have in just by being alive. Everything else, and I mean EVERYTHING else other than the wellbeing of our loved ones is really not that important.

I am glad you are well and wish you to never have to experience anything like this again.

    Vlad.

Death is an unresolved mystery and it's inspiring to read 'how you have able to wander off to a safe zone. Such experiences often produce instant life changing behavior's than other methods which takes years to do the same.
    Thanks for sharing.

It's scary to think an insect (deadly albeit) could have cost you your life. I'm just relieved to know that you made it out alright and are going strong

As you say nothing is forever... we really have to make the most of what time we have here because you never know when your time may be up.

Key Lesson: Never take things for granted. There ain't no guarantee there will be a tomorrow. So do what you want or need to do TODAY.

    Peace.

Hi Nate, glad to see that you are back to normal. My mother had the same problem (I don't know about spiders, but certainly out of wasps stings) and she went into anaphylactic shock three times in her life and I believe after the first time she was advised to always have with her a little injection kit which should be applied immediately after a bite.
Myself I don't like to be near flies bees wasps etc in general. So far I am not allergic to bites, but I do become quite stiff in a large area around the bite even if it is just a mosquito bite! Maybe I am heading that way...
Anyway, all the best for the future!

Wow, what a wake up call.

    Glad your still here mate.

A friend of mine died last Monday, he was only 23 years of age. Perfectly healthy, went to bed and never woke up.

We have many things in this life that we take for granted and whatever your religious beliefs are we should appreciate the bounties of this life and not always worry so much about the little trials and tribulations that come our way.

The biggest gift is the air we breathe.

I really appreciate the support you've shared with me! I mean that from my heart! The majority of us are strangers here, if I walked by you on the streets you probably wouldn't know who I am. The warrior forum has been very good to me and has shown me that the world is still filled with GREAT people. To say the events that took place a couple days ago are life changing would be an understatement! My focus and drive are very high right now and after experiencing what I thought might be the end, I really can't see going back! It was a wake up call to say the least and will use what I experienced to better myself and my life! Again, I can't thank you enough for reaching out and giving me your support! God Bless!

    Hi Nate,
I can imagine what kind of shock this experience was. We take so much for granted. We're living our everyday lifes without "wasting" a thought about life itself.

    Such experiences change people.

    Have a beautiful day,

    I am happy for you..

There are only few people in the world who gets to realize what you have realized before its too late.. Sometimes we run so fast that we fail to appreciate the beauty of where we are passing on.. Sometimes we were too tired to be thankful that we had strength to use.. All the simple things that makes our lives complete should be appreciated..

I have read and known alot of real life stories correlating with yours and it makes me feel thankful of what i am having today.

I love the idea of letting your love ones know how much you love them while you have the chance to say so..Time cannot be turned back..even a single second..make thebest out of life while you have it and be an eye-opener for others..

    Stay well,
    Bob

Glad to hear you're okay! Isn't it incredible (and incredibly terrifying) how something so small (a spider) can have such a massive effect on our bodies?

Thank you for the reminder that life is so precious and that the things we wouldn't normally think about could take it away at any second.

Wow. I am sure all of your friends, family and loved ones are so glad to still have you here with them n8. So fortunate you got the help you needed in a time.

While I personally have no fear of death as I feel absolutely certain that there Is nothing more to fear from Death than we should feel from waking from the dream we had this morning I nevertheless cannot say for sure exactly what happens after we pass on. And I certainly don't feel ready to leave this wonderful and interesting story just yet!

(Without getting too much into it, much of the way I feel how I do is simple. Energy is Constant and Everything is Eternal and Connected. If you've never yet delved into Meta-Physics I Highly recommend it. The things the cutting edges of science are discovering these days are truly mind blowing. And the one of the most interesting aspects is that most of the findings are in almost perfect alignment with what much of spiritual teachings have been saying for ages.)

Thank you so much for sharing your touching near death experience n8. Reminders like yours truly help us all to remember how beautiful and precious every single moment is.

Please keep us posted (in my case even by PM if you wish) as to how this dramatic event changes your life. I find matters like these very interesting and inspiring.

    Namaste

That is so scary!! Glad you're ok Nate!

Hearing something like that really puts things in perspective. It's so easy to get caught up in things that, in the grand scheme of things, really don't matter. Hearing stories like this one remind all of us how lucky we truly are, and that the trials and tribulations of IM are nothing compared to what some people are going through!
