The Straight Story (1999) - Reprise - The power of persistence

If you are still haven't made your first penny online or still struggling to hit $10/day online or so don't give up. Success is a process so keep learning and applying with belief. The only difference is for some people the process is little bit longer than the others.

Just fyi, m
y first sale was made in the twelfth month of the process The amount wasn't so important yet the feeling was definitely unforgettable.

    Fantastic video.

The truth is that most small businesses lose money in their first twelve months and that is if they're lucky enough to stay in business.

That is why some home based internet businesses are so good. Even with very little experience you know if you have found a good one. Also even if you don't make any sales at first the money outlay is far less than it would be for a 'traditional' business - no premises, staff, stock...

But Henry is right - when you get your first sale the feeling is amazing. And if you stick to it and follow the steps then it will be one of many great feelings.

I heard a quote once: "If a person really wants something and persists at it, then the whole of the Universe comes together to help him attain it."

Simple words with profound effects. Obviously, being persistent means keeping on taking action and not quitting on the final hurdle.

      Beautiful video!

When we want something really really bad, nothing can stop us... no matter how many times we fail. Applying that to Internet marketing, I don't think we ever "fail" as long as we keep trying and learning. There is a whole world of things to learn online and it never ends, because something new comes up every day.

The key factor, for me, is passion. I'm passionate about having my own online business and even though I have made small amounts, that's not what really counts to me. Yes, the feeling was unbelievable, only proved to me it is possible to make money online. That, along with the fact that I know I can give my family a better life, is enough to keep me going. I would also like tosay that a key factor has been finding the right mentor, a guy that explains things in a clear way, doesn't complicate anything, and it goes to the point. It doesn't tell you to read countless e-books like other people do.

Anyway, that's my two cents on the subject.

It reminds me of Napoleon Hill's "Think and Grow Rich". A major value advocated by that book is persistence, and the attitude that you don't give up until you get what you want. You almost need to be 'stubborn' about it.

I always think -- You don't have to get there fast to get there.

I used to be a bit dismayed reading headlines like "How Newbie created a $10,000 -a-month Cash Cow". But now when I see those stories, I think that even if they are true... well I view them simply as someone going down the road faster than I am. And if I just keep going, I'll still get to where I want to be.

Wow...great video... I put it up on my favorites!

    Thanks for that.

It is so true to never give up. I literally failed for years before I ever knew what I was doing. But something in me kept pushing me forward. It sure is persistence.

    Thanks for that bro!

    Omar!

Be a mule. Being stubborn can surely help you get your way. I salute the man who doggedly rode for weeks just to see his dying brother. Great video, by the way.

Thats great, pesistence is one of the most important qualities any person must possess to experience success especally when it comes to intenet and even in real life cases. yet it is the hardest attribute of success to master.

one of the most important thing to help you in mastering the act of pesistence is to always chose a field of life where you have a burning passion for, chose a field of life's endeavour that gives you joy and maximum satisfaction.

Do a thorough sturdy of all the people who have succeeded or are succeeding in your chosen field, and try to pattern after them. Note if you can find even only one person who has succeeded in that field it only means success is possible right in that field and you too can succeed.

    Beautiful video.

Personally, I think persistence comes about best when you have a "WHY" in your life. Most everybody knows the "WHAT" and plenty will learn the "HOW", but I see the most persistent folks equipped with a "WHY" in their life.

"You cannot tell from appearances how things will go. Sometimes imagination makes things out far worse than they are; yet without imagination not much can be done. Those people who are imaginative see many more dangers than perhaps exist; certainly many more than will happen; but then they must also pray to be given that extra courage to carry this far-reaching imagination. But for everyone, surely, what we have gone through in this period - I am addressing myself to the School - surely from this period of ten months this is the lesson: never give in, never give in, never, never, never, never-in nothing, great or small, large or petty - never give in except to convictions of honour and good sense."

The power of persistence can definitely take you a long
way. Never giving up despite being in the face of so many difficulties is a
remarkable trait in a person. Most people lose heart after two or perhaps three
failures. Some even give it up even after just failing once. But what everyone
must remember is that failure is part of life. Success would not taste as sweet
if a person cannot experience failure. So instead of giving up, provide
yourself with power within and tough it out. Be persistent in reaching your
    goals.
