One year's difference.

I'm trying real hard to keep my head up, but it's killing me. I'm so depressed right now it's not even funny. I'm sick of living like this. Dammit next year I am making serious coin. Not to buy crap, just to pay off my debts and be able to breath free for once. I'm so frustrated right now its not even funny.
That was me last December.

In the last year I started my business, had a successful WSO and created a website. I had some bumps and learned a lot about providing a service. I learned to shift my mental focus from what I can get from people, to what value I can provide to people.

Last year I was barely able to buy christmas gifts for my daughter. This year I have a savings account for the first time in a long time.

I landed a major offline client and I am picking up my final payment from them next week that will pay off the remainder of my credit card debts. I'm not rolling in dough, but I am making enough that I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. Even after losing most of my stuff in a house fire in July, I regrouped, found a roommate and continued to press forward. This year was about getting on my feet. I've had no life, no girlfriends, I don't go out with the guys. I work all day and all night but it's worth it.

Next year I want to expand my services and marketing efforts so I can eventually quit my day job. I also want to learn how to generate passive income.

Thanks to all of the people in this forum who keep posting inspirational posts. You guys give people like me the inspiration to keep moving forward. Here's to even better things in 2011!

YOU are now an inspiration to me and many others here! Great story! Reminds us that if you just stick to it and do not give up, you can turn any bad situation around.

Your switch in mental focus is/was critical. Its not about what you can GET, its better to focus on what you can GIVE to others and suddenly you start to get a whole lot more.

I recently learned that vital truth myself, and have also made that mental switch!

That is great news. Glad you squared out most of your debt. You kept trying and in the end, came out on top. Again, congrats on making it this far, and good luck on making it even further.

This is the spirit. The day you quit your job, the day ten or fifteen years later when you realize you can quit your job and not have to worry about a thing for the rest of your life, it's like being released from prison. I remember that day well. The next day I had a cup of coffee. For two hours lol.
